On or around the 26th of August I set up an appointment to get my driver's side power seat in my truck worked on. They had my truck all day which was ok. I went to pick it up and paid my bill of over $400. No problem. Power seat was feeling like new. However, when I went to adjust the seat it didn't work. I tried every button and nothing but an inch of movement. I went back inside and told them about it they said to bring it around to the back of the shop. They tried this and that and nothing helped. I said it was working when I brought the truck to you which it was so what now? Maybe the switch is bad they said, and I said okay order a new one (another $30) and I'll split the cost which they did and tried that and nothing. Dead as a door nail. I asked now what? Well, the owner went inside and came back and said here's the part number($250) find one and we'll put it in for you for another $191 bucks! Ridiculous! I told them it was working when brought it in! His answer was his mother in laws truck did the same thing. Seriously? That your answer. Unbelievable. All I know is that the truck seat was working when I brought it in and after they worked on it didn't. They acted as though they didnt believe me and I was trying to rip them off. ********. Now I have a power seat that doesn't power! They broke it they should fix it or refund my money.

First off, the customers seat was working intermediately when it came in. We test all functions on all seats prior to removal of the seat. It is noted when there are any deficiencies. We have seen this on a few of these 2006 Fords/Mercury, and yes we have had one in our family, which had the same issue. ************** seat was working when we reinstalled the seat, of which the customer got a price on the work to be done to the seat foam prior to his appt. So his bill was what we quoted for what work was performed. The customer immediately went for the seat adjustment switches when we walked him out to the vehicle while standing outside the vehicle. It worked, and than stopped. ***** moved the switch back and forth and it would work than stop (same scenario as when it was brought into the shop). We had told him of the past experience we've have with these vehicles and what the issue we've found to be. He insisted it was probably the switch, so we said we can order one and we will spilt the cost of the part with you (which was $32.00)even though our repair on the seat foam had nothing to do with the switch or any electrical components, and install it at NO CHARGE.  The customer agreed. We ordered the part, called the customer in and installed the new switch. It still wasn't working properly. ***** at that time reintegrated that the issue was what he had told him previously, that the Culprit was most likely the motor, which is part of the frame. Unfortunately these parts have been discontinued due to it being a 16 year old vehicle. We let the customer know this, and said his only option would be to source a used one, and that's always a ****** as well. He said he would do some checking. We left on him on that note until this. If he would like his $32.00 refunded for his share of the switch, which we had told him we didn't think that was the issue, (but he had told us he had made some calls, and was told from the dealerships that it could be), we will more than happy to refund that.

************ is more than welcomed to come by and we will refund his $32.00.

As for the original worked that we performed on the seat ************, he said he was very happy with that. So we won't be refunding the original cost for the work that was preformed.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: The business may remember one way and the client may remember it another way that is usually the case. However, it is my opinion and after to talking with two car dealers and a few other car upholstery shops in town they are of the same opinion that since the seat was working 100% when it was brought into that business and that while it was in the care of that business it quit working completely that it should be the responsibility of that business to repair the seat back to the original working condition it was before it was brought in. It was during the work being done that the power seat was damaged in some way. This being the power operation of the seat. It doesn't matter about any other vehicle this is MY vehicle. I'm not asking for a refund of the original work order.  What I'm asking is that seat be repaired to working order or the means to get it back to working order. Maybe we can work something out maybe not. I am willing to look at options to have this come out to a positive conclusion for both parties.

    Sincerely,
