      In 2023 I prepaid for **. We did not use all the ** in 2023/2024 due to the mild weather. Now Allied Cooperative is charging me $100.00 because I did not use all the prepaid **.

      We are disappointed that our customer has chosen to settle her frustration by filing a complaint.  I do not show any record that she even attempted to call us regarding the charge.  While we understand her frustration over the charge, the contract she signed (which we have attached here), clearly states that if half of the gallons contracted are not delivered by April 30,2024, a $100.00 service charge will be assessed.  While this may seem like we are being ****** difficult, the simple truth is that when the customer prepays to contract their gallons, we also contract those gallons with our supplier.  *******op has to pay for that contract whether our customer takes the fuel or not.  This charge helps to cover that loss.  In cases where the amount is close, we do work with our customers, but in ****** & *****'s case, they prepaid for 300 gallons but did not use any.  Their total gallons with us during that time period were ZERO.  So for the co-op, that was a loss.  I am not sure what she used to heat her home this past year, but if it is propane I would suggest she would be better off doing a summer fill and letting that be enough.
