    If I could leave a negative 10, I would. We had DP demo our front door stoop, stairs and patio slab last fall. They tore up our yard and left a mess. The three step stairs were poured with the bottom two steps at 5-1/2" and the top step at 7-1/2", a tripping hazard. The gap below the stoop slab was to be covered with grout but was not done. The slab and stoop were marred when the forms were removed from the stairs and the slab and stoop were re-broomed. Visitors ask us "who in the world did your concrete work?" (this is the polite version). We asked DP last fall what they were going to do to fix the mess. They said they would wait until spring indicating it would look better when the finish would (miraculously) look better. It did not. We withheld final payment. We had paid 1/3 down. They finally came in the spring, after we bugged them multiple times, to look at their work. The boss, Dave, said "why would they pour the stairs like that?". They came up with a plan to replace the stairs and worse part of the slab at no charge. They said the lawn looked okay (to them). After a week they called and said they were not interested in fixing their mess because they did not think they could meet our expectations. We are in the process of getting quotes to fix their mess, including removing everything they did and starting over. I have worked in design and construction management for over 50 years and have never encountered a contractor who bailed like this outfit did. We have found another victim of their work in our area and hope to discuss options with them moving forward. I am amazed they have an A+ rating.
