Contractor Issues Total Amount of Money paid up front for both claims: $29,552.11. -Barn roof was to be replaced Claim #1 -Tornado Damage Repair to be done Claim #2 They never touched the barn as they were not going to comply with **** regulations and they are in material breach. I am the project manager for my mother's house. We hired Power Contracting and Restoration to repair storm damage. They brought unqualified workers and left the property in a dangerous condition, and made it known they would not be following **** regulations. ***** **********, the *** misrepresented information about the documentation, forced my Mother to sign a Certificate of Completion even though the work was not done and the work that was done put them in material breach. ***** also misrepresented the choice for the barn roof; he said we had to get shingles or it wouldn't be insured which the insurance company stated was false, we could get a metal roof. He did this all while using his Christianity to get my Mother and myself to drop our guard. They have not fixed any of the poor workmanship or provided any solutions. They saw the poor workmanship in person (***, ***** along with me my mother and **** ****) on September 26, 2024 and I sent a follow up email September 27, 2024. Nothing has been done to resolve this matter. They tried to get my Mom to send a notarized letter that she is breaking the contract which is not the case, they are in material breach of any contract we may have. AND ***** never had her sign a contract for the barn. OR used anything with a second page, which is where the information about keeping money if you don't use the company. We can not find anything on *** or his company anywhere. The *** provided can not be verified despite me trying many times, and there is another company listed on the *** not Power Contracting and Restoration. ***** ********** referred me to use his father and works for this company in ********

    Business Response

    Date: 11/14/2024

In an attempt to diffuse this unfortunate situation before it escalates into a hugely expensive legal battle for all parties I have decided to nullify both signed contracts without penalty and issue a cashiers check for the full refund amount of $29522.11 made out to **** *** ******* as specified in earlier communications.  My intent is to put the possibility of further litigation by either party to rest. I have also contacted ********** to retrieve all materials that had been ordered for the roof replacement of the barn, this has been scheduled for November 14th. Thank you. All parties have agreed to these terms.
