In 2019 by neighbors tree fell on my roof during a storm and caused over $40,000 in damage (insurance claim). **** Perkins did all the repairs. Just over a year later I contacted him to complain that my wall were weeping. He tried to tell me it was due to ice dams. I reminded him I never had this problem and it was a brand new roof!!! He agreed to come out and look . I contacted him 3 additional times in the next 2 years for the same problem. He told me his guys will push around the insulation. Last time I reached out (christmas 2022) he told me I was supposed to get more insulation.I've sustained a large amount of drywall damage due to the moisture. An independent contractor came out (I have pictures if you need them for your case) and **** and his team covered the roof vents and there is only 4-7" of insulation. According to State Farm policy and the **************** is required to bring the insulation up to code when doing the repairs (NOT ME). He refuses and State Farm says (despite my contact with ******************* to two years after the initial damage) they will NOT reopen the claim. **** says his company has a life time labor warranty yet he won't fix the job. He is extremely unprofessional and rude. NOW i have to pay out of pocket for another company to fix the vents (**** installed the wrong size) and add additional insulation. I also need the drywall repaired from all of the water stains. **** told me during my last inquiry to him about my dripping walls that he "told me to get more insulation". Once again, by law he is required to bring it up to code. a large amount of insulation had to be removed from the attic due to the storm damage. He did not seal around the roof vent either (see picture) so moisture can get in through the cracks. Water on beams in pic.Bottom line, **** did not complete the repairs to my satisfaction and the law. I need it insulated because my heating bill is through the roof. These expenses are now coming out of MY pocket!

I am sorry to hear this, as I was there more then once and we did try to spread the little bit of insulation she had best we could. We did not cover any soffit vents we were not that far in the attic. If we covered roof vents then we would install ridge vents.. I also told her mom, and her when we were paid that she really needed more insulation she only has 4 inches and code ,she would need at least 10 more inches..Also told her that every time I was there for next to *******..As a code the contractor is not by any means to bring her home to code at are cost, if that was case every home I do we would have thousands included in the bid.. many homeowners have code upgrade as a supplement in there policy she did not, as we could only replace what was damaged.  I find it amazing that now she has listened somewhat  to another contractor and adding insulation. As I have recommended for 2 years.. she said can't afford for last 2 years now she can and she hired someone else..there is now way Perkins All Star Exteriors is responsible for her maintenance or code issues...Also if she has added a humidifier to home or furnace this also causes issues if home owners don't regularly set for proper areas and temperature..I will let my 300 or more reviews speak for themselves.. any questions please call **** Perkins

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Unfortunately, there was not enough characters allowed to go into full details of my complaint.  One important piece of information to emphasize is that when I lived in the house form 2014-2019 (when the damage occurred) I NEVER EVER had problems with my insulation and/or weeping walls.  Only after my roof and attic were "fixed" did the problems arise.  The contractor refuses to accept responsibility for his lack of bringing the attic/roof to it's previous condition

Sorry y she feels that i need to bring her home to code , the tree hit very back corner of home. we also did siding built a new porch and of course when we went to collect it was like pulling teeth. they do not have a problem until winter as i said many of time to the clien, she needs more insulation and it is not Perkins responsibility to install Funny she will pay someone else. I gave her my insulation company that is certified in that type of project. Perkins has the scope from insurance and needed to insulate only back north west corner of home. That is not any where near where it is coordinating on ceiling in middle bedroom. Only way this client will be happy if i pay for her code upgrade which i will not do....If we have a slander or complaint that i feel is wrongly proceeded Perkins All Star will turn over to are Lawyer, Amazing we have over ******************************************************************************************************* wanted free products... Tell us why here...
