I paid ****** a deposit of $250 to complete a stairs project. Unforunately, ****** did not do a good job completing the stairs. ****** said he would be willing to redo the stairs, but he didn't respond after multiple attempts until I threatened to get my money back via chargeback (I should have done). He replied back the email stating he was in the hospital and that he would still like to complete the project. Now, it is my fault for not responding right then due to really just life issues. I decided to reach out to him recently and I'm getting no response. Sadly, I miss the date to do a chargeback, which is why I'm leaving reviews, BBB, and the department of justice to get my funds back. ****** did a bottom tier job when it came to my property. He did a neighbor's house in the community and did a great job. Sadly, I explained to ****** that I have through a lot of bad contractors. Clearly, I didn't get it right with him either. These were the original problems with the job:* The stairs weren't cut evenly. * The stairs weren't lined up properly.* 2x4 were used for steps, but he is know for "Restoring", I had no what was supposed to be there until I did my research. *There is a huge gap between the stairs and post. His reasoning (without communication with me) was that this would be enough space to pull up the post without taking apart the stairs. The lie detector determined that was a lie.

    Business Response

Unfortunately there were some communication errors with this job. The stair treads are in face 2x6 ******* fir, standard and up to code for stairs used on exterior applications. Regardless I apologize for the less than great experience but I do believe my work was done pretty well with the exception of the railing which should be replaced. Before that happens the stairs wont look good. In hind sight I shouldve refused to do the stairs without ************ and/or entire porch.

A check will be in the mail on the way to you this week.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have yet to receive the check that he claims that he sent last week. This is the reason why I rejected the response. The railing and stairs are two different parts. It looks way worse after his work than it originally did. I read the manual and it is not up to code. The stairs don't even drain the water off properly. It literally sits and to walk on during rain/snow. The railing was simply loose and it wasn't visibly noticable unless it was pushed. This guy is clearly delusional.

    Regards,
