I closed on a home and the company failed to pay the fines on the property until later in the year. Those fines were added to the taxes. I paid the taxes on the property which included the fines. The city refunded the money back to the title company which should have been returned to me. I verified it with the city of ********* that the refund was sent to them and cashed. I have reached out several times by phone and email. I have not received a response. Everyone is on the email chain I can submit that if needed.

Summation of the $209.95 in question.  Seller disbursed (3) fees at closing on Sept. 22, 2022, owed and sent to ********* **** of ************ Services.  Amount in question was cashed by Milwaukee in December of 2022 (Page 3 attached).
Milwaukee-*** stated it was already paid in full.  See attached Page 2 that states it was an overpayment.  Said amount was to be refunded to Seller, who paid it at closing.
The title company issuing checks, received the amount back from ***, then refunded the $209.95 back to the Seller.   Through the process of delays on cashing the check, to confusion of which rollover amounts transferred onto tax bill, to the *** records update - a year later, after stating it was paid in full, now states the amount is still outstanding and due upon the new Buyer, *******************************.
The amount in question had been refunded back to Seller, based on the information given from Milwaukee ***.  Rather than now request the amount back from the Seller, we as facilitators will pay the amount on behalf of *******************************.
Please let me know if there are any questions.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The first email was the from the city stating they would apply it the account but it would have to be cleared with the treasurer (******). Next email is from ****** stating they are unable to apply it to the account as this was for 2022. A refund was issued due to overpayment. The buyer (me) over paid because the $209 was never applied for the account due to the ******************** company not issuing in time.  I verified it with the city that the refund was only sent back to them because I already paid the property taxes and the check was for $209 was never apply to anything. Because the title company sent the check they would have to be refunded and then refund me. Can you tell how does the buyer get a refund for something I paid????  I was never credit for $209 on the closing documents because this fine was supposed to be paid by the seller from the proceeds.  I attached the closing documents I did NOT receive credit for the fines. Please refund me

    Regards,
