I called this moving company when I was leaving domestic violence and they took some information and had me fill out a form. I later found out that they are a fraudulent company, and I put a stop payment with my bank. They never showed up to render services and they also disconnected their phone number that they gave me and now that money is being charged from my account. I am unable to reach them To dispute this.Business Response

I booked Americas moving and storage to help move my stuff from ***** to *******. The guy on the phone ***** said it would be $2800 with a $800 deposit and assured me he over estimated me to help with any forgotten ideas. Told me I was scheduled to move on Monday and said he would put on the notes to make sure Tuesday was available in case I needed to push it back a dayand therefor messed up the dates on the contract. I paid the money and heard from NO ONE about pick up or anything for 2 days. I kept texting and asking questions and then heard from quality assurance about my inventory. Seemed legit. Again, silence for another 4 days. I finally got ahold (after multiple different calls to ***** and the service number) to a CS rep and she told me her notes said the truck was coming Sunday to ensure the move on Monday. She said dispatch would be reaching out to confirm an ETA. No call on Saturday, nothing on Sunday. My house boxed up and I had to rent a hotel room because I was told things were getting loaded Sunday and I had to get a bed for my wife and kids. Called Monday first thing and the lady told me she had in her notes that I wasnt supposed to move until Tuesday. On top of that, when I sent the invoice to my work for reimbursement, Americas Moving and Storage had a hold for $6500!!! They already planned to up charge me just like all the other complaints said. This place is a SCAM and NO ONE needs to use their service.Business Response

Atlas packed and moved ** on April 14th and 15th of this year. The proposal quoted packing of $2,304.79 (attached) after doing a walkthrough of the house. It should be noted there were fewer items to pack at the time of the move because some items were sold and others had already been removed and taken to the final destination. The final bill had a packing charge of $6,973.17 which is three times hire than the proposal. The day before delivery they demanded payment in no uncertain terms by twelve noon or goods would not be delivered when promised. I tried calling and emailing the salesman but he ignored me. I then contacted Atlas corporate with my concerns and they had management contact management at Ace and they reduced the charges to $3,934.47 which is almost twice as much as the proposal. We agreed to pay this because we wanted the items delivered and did not want to pay them for storage pet the attached email. They are supposed to be the professionals and should not be off by this amount of money. It felt like a bait and switch.Prior to the move, ***************************** who is the customer service supervisor, was unprofessional and in many ways rude to **. Moving is stressful enough and one would expect the customer service supervisor to be helpful in the process. Is should be noted that we had used Atlas for a prior move and it was excellent from the driver to the people in the office which is a major reason we chose them again.I feel strongly that the original pack amount is what should have been owed. Further, their poor customer service hurt not only them but the Atlas reputation. There is no need during the stressful time of a move to be aggressive with customers.Business Response

Good afternoon. In reviewing this complaint with the *** team, it appears your actively in touch with Atlas and our team currently. Charges have been reduced as you noted in your communication.
There was a good amount of additional packing associated with your move than provided in the estimate but we have been flexible related to the charges for that work which you have seen.
We can see where we need to be very clear on the assumptions and expectations related to the packing side which we are adjusting on our end to make sure that is clearly explained to clients in the future. We do apologize for the process as we know that moving is very stressful and hope your enjoy your new home.

*** was hired by myself and my boyfriend to move his household items from ********** to ********. The quote received via email only (no photos or in person quote) was for 3 containers and $4443.28. When the movers came, there were a few more items that didnt fit into the 3 containers so they advised a 4th container would be needed. Sometime between September 6 and September 13, the number of containers went from 4 to 6. No one at Ace could provide photos or information on how that occurred or what was in each container. I spoke with ************************* at Ace and explained what took place with the packing of the items and that 4 containers was appropriate. He agreed and sent an updated pricing sheet for 4 containers totaling $5758.78, that I signed and sent back. The delivery date was scheduled for September 19. Upon attempting to pay via the link provided, the total was showing $7020.89. When questioned about this, we were told by **** that this total had to be paid or we would not receive our items. To ensure we got our items, the total was paid on September 16 with several emails documenting the discrepancy. After payment was made, we were notified that we would not be receiving our items on the 19th as agreed and that the delivery would occur on the 23rd. When the truck arrived, all of the items had been unpacked from all containers and were loosely packed in a small box truck, so it remains unknown how many containers were used and how the items were packed. To date, weve reached out several times to **** and the operations staff at Ace for some kind of resolution. *******************************, the director of operations, advised on November 3 that no refunds will be issued. We still have not received any documentation on what was in each container, nor why our items were unpacked prior to their arrival in ********.Customer Answer

On November 10, ******************************* with Ace Worldwide reached out for another copy of the signed document stating 4 containers and the quote for such. I forwarded the original email where I signed it and returned it to him on September 13. The response stated I would be contacted. I was contacted by ******************************* on November 22. She stated a refund would be issued by Atlas in the amount of $813.15. I inquired as to how they came to this amount, as the difference in what I was quoted to what they charged was $1262.11. I have yet to receive any type of response from Ace since then.Business Response

I advised ****** that I did not contract with Atlas, I contracted with Ace and any facilitation with Atlas is the sole responsibility of Ace. She advised that she would attempt communication and let me know the outcome. This complaint is not satisfied to date.
