      Festival Foods (***************, ********* )Ive been a loyal customer at this store for a while, but unfortunately, my experience has changed. Theres a consistent pattern of different treatment toward Black customers including being watched, questioned, and made to feel unwelcome during normal shopping trips. Meanwhile, white customers are greeted warmly and assisted without scrutiny. After one final incident where I felt targeted and disrespected while standing up for my sister, Ive decided to take my business elsewhere. This location needs serious retraining in customer respect and equal treatment.

      They have sales and registers dont honor it unless you catch it. Ive reached out to festival through their web site contact us and nothing back. They know theyre doing it!!! And at all stores not just one. Ive talked to others and they say its happening throughout this business!!! Should be if its not illegal !!!! Think of how much money theyve stolen from the customer!!!

      I visited Festival Foods in ********* with my autistic grandson and brother to play the lottery. My grandson was running around and getting loud so i went to get a shopping cart to put him in. The guy who was in the lottery section was in the cart section once i got over there. As i lifted my grandson up to put him in the cart the guy Robert says “Yeah Put Him In The Cage”. I was stunned at how cruel this man was talking about my grandson. I was totally shocked and this was one time I can say i froze realizing what a cruel world we live in and also what type of people they hire to work in Festival. He said well it is like a cage and walked off. This is really traumatizing and we are going through a lot after this. I cant sleep. I cant believe this is still going on in this world. Also i contacted the store the store the next day and spoke to shift manager Ray ***** to file the complaint he told me he had a couple other complaints that morning and he told me i want to tell you a joke I moved from a urban area and ********* is a pretty rural area they do things differently they are not as diverse. So before we got off the phone i asked so what is the joke he said i just told you the joke. Laughing. Im offended again by him. Once Ray found out who it was he went from saying I’m going to get to the bottom of this to calling me saying i got great news i got Robert on the phone and he admitted to saying that and he wants to apologize. I asked him why did he say that he said well you know how we put our kids in the cage i said no i have never put my kids in a cage then Ray took him off the phone. Then Store director John ****** came in on the call and said he heard what had happened and he doesn't think its nefarious enough for him to get fired. He said he’s been with us for 15 years. My question is where did these people come from that's 3 people in 2 days saying these terrible things and no one thought what Robert said was discriminating outrageous at no point at all.

      There were 2 cashier lanes open: One "self bag" and the other one "we bag". I went through the "we bag" line. Gage the cashier was there working. I decided to start bagging while he rang up my items. When he was done ringing up my items he just stood there instead of helping me bag. I asked him if he would help me bag, he did not answer me. So, I asked him one more time if he would help me bag and again I was ignored. There were 3 people in line behind me so I asked them if the sign did not say "We Bag". At that point Gage took down the sign that said "we Bag" and switched it to the "self bag" sign. I said very loudly "Oh no you didn't" and I said loud enough for the whole front of the store to hear that I wanted a manager. Then Gage left the register and walk up the employee stairs in front of the store. A woman employee walked over an I told her he had switched the signs and she said "yes I did see that". Then the manager walked over and said I will get the bagging. I told the manager that I wanted Gage terminated. He said they will deal with him. I have never experienced such horrible customer service and I want not only the store but the corporate office to know what had happened.

      We are tired of continuously finding and bringing attention to expired canned goods and other food items, moldy smoked fish, produce rotting in the bag. We have complained to management several times. They could care less. The health of our family is a priority. How many less observant people have eaten unhealthy, expired, rotten food from this store without knowing? We are on our way now to return a bag of stinking, rotting grapes we bought yesterday.
