Horrible customer service when it comes to fraudulent activity on personal bank accounts.I recently had my account hacked by fraudsters and they used my stolen card info to charge 2 purchases for the identical amount of $457.00 total of $914.00 for bit coins. I reported the fraudulent purchases the same day they were made on my card, to the bank. I then met in person with a personal banker from the bank the following Monday, card was charged on previous Friday afternoon. They canceled my card, on Monday, I asked them to cancel the purchases that day as they were still in the pending status. I was told that the amount of $914. would be credited back to my account in 2 to 3 business days, and they would investigate the matter. The funds were never transferred during the week. On Friday I received a letter from the bank, that they were told by the company that handles their debit cards the purchases were real and I was out the total amount. Also the funds were no longer in pending status at this time and they were allowed to be processed even after my request to have them blocked for payment. I was told by the bank that my only recourse was to try and get a refund from the seller the fraudsters used to buy the bitcoins from. Since I had not made the purchase and had no idea who they even were I had no way of contacting them. The bank said it was done dealing with the issue and no further action on their part would be done. If you want to be left high and dry with terrible service when dealing with fraud. Which is more and more common now Bank of Deerfield is your place to go. I have since closed all my accounts with them and are now with a new bank that actually has a fraud department and feel much safer once I learned of the poor practices of the former bank. Terrible, **************** and was made to feel like I was in the wrong for disputing fake charges and had $914.00 stolen from me while they did nothing to help solve the problem
