I have receiving numerous calls from Rent to Own from various locations in *****************. I own my own home which is paid for and never asked to be contacted, but I am getting calls every day from various cities in the U.S.I have asked several callers to take me off the list they have, and the calls keep coming in. I want them to stop.Business Response

I feel very confident it was not Lebakkens that is calling this person. We do not have various locations in *****************. We only have locations in Wisconsin, and we do not do business anywhere near where this person lives in *********. Just in case we might be missing something, we checked our telephone systems that records all numbers that are called for any reason and did not find the number that he has listed in his complaint. It is important to understand that Rent to Own is not the name of a company as suggested in your complaint, it is a type of business. There are thousands of companies, like Lebakkens, that conduct business using the Rent to Own transaction. I feel bad for your situation, but unfortunately, I have no idea how to help you.Initial Complaint

Let me start by saying we made a phone call to the customer after the delivery that was recorded and have copies of all text messages that refutes all of what this customer is claiming. The first complaint is that we did not tell them that the ** and ** stand that they rented were previously rented and we didnt do anything about it. First, the ** was new, and the ** stand was previously rented, as was the furniture group they rented. It is no secret that we offer previously rented merchandise at a discount. She did claim at the delivery that she did not know the ** stand was previously rented, but it is not true that we did nothing about it. We have a copy of the follow up text message where you can see that we offered to get her a new ** stand, but she chose to keep the discounted ** stand. The second complaint is that our delivery people were careless and delivered the merchandise in the rain and that the ** and furniture got soaked. The customers were present and helped with the delivery during a light rain. After the delivery, in the recorded phone conversation, you can hear our employee ask the customers if they had a chance look over the merchandise and the property for any damages, the only concern brought to our attention was the ** stand and that the ** got a little wet but they were going to wipe it down and get it plugged in and tested and would let us know if there were any concerns. This was followed up by our employee asking them if there were any questions or concerns that theyd like to bring to our attention and the customer responded with No, youre good. There was no mention of the furniture getting soaked. The third complaint is that we were texting them without their consent and harassing them. The only form of communication the customer would have with us since the delivery has been by text, and the copies we have of all of them will show that at no time did they ask us to stop texting them. It will also show that we in no way were harassing them. The final complaint is that we refused to work with them on the past due accounts. The texts will also show that is not true, that we did try to work with them and that the customers were the ones that repeatedly failed to follow through.Lebakkens is a member of the BBB and we offer to have any disputes mediated by the BBB. In this case, the customer must know that all their complaints are verifiably false by recorded phone conversation and text messages.Customer Answer

The reason for my reject is because they never called me to follow up about the ** stand they never once told us that it was used. And there answer to working with us is oh we gotta send it corporate and if they say to do so we will file a small claims on you not really working with us at all we told them we just started a job and we are trying to get money to pay them but they constantly were blowing my phone up 2 times a day at minimum so I still have a ** stand that has a hole on the side of it and yes we did tell the driver and the one who called us that our stuff got wet that day there response was oh we will call you back next day they never called backInitial Complaint

Lebakkens delivery drivers came to our house due to unable to pay part of the agreement due to having covid 19 our phones getting shut off and didn't have a way to get ahold of them. Their delivery drivers came to the house ended up making false representation of being law enforcement and he was going to bring his badge and everything else upon noticing that my camera that I have up to have recording just in case we weren't home does video and audio they ended up pushing my camera up and ended up breaking it to where I can't see anything on it. I called and they didn't believe me about any of it I sent them the proof of it and didn't come up with a solution I also told them I couldn't come up with it due to having covid 19 and missing work due to that. I told them I would pay as soon as I got it. It wasn't good enough for themBusiness Response

I believe the customer made this complaint after sending the video and prior to corporate's viewing of the evidence. Upon the Store Manager receiving the video on Friday morning, 7-15-22, it was forwarded to the corporate office for review. After review, it does appear that the temporary driver, who completed the home visit that day, slapped the camera and the video feed abruptly stopped. The corporate office reached out to the customer on Friday *******, at approximately 2:30pm and offered a full replacement cost of the camera, which the customer was happy to receive. We apologized for the unprofessional behavior that took place from the temporary driver, assured the customer that the driver from that day would never work or represent Lebakkens in the future and let him know that we likely would be forwarding his information and the situation to the ***************************** for possible charges for Damage to Property. Unfortunately, like many other businesses, we have an employee shortage in many of our stores currently and we needed to use a temporary day laborer rather than a regular trained employee.
