Midwest Manufacturing's Mastercraft provided a replacement door slab that was installed March 4th 2025. On March 29th I noticed after it had rained that there were water drippings on the inside of the door. *********** was notified and proposed that under their warranty that the door was still good and it was the window and that's all they would provide. I was concerned that if it didn't fix it and it started leaking again, would they stand behind it and give me a replacement of would they take the position that the installer was at fault and therefore they didn't have any responsibility to replace anything. I also thought that I shouldn't have to pay for the installation since it was a manufacturing defect and they should cover it. They said they wouldn't. They have not responded to answering that question. This is my main issue right now.Following are copies of my communications with them.Sorry, but the communications that I was planning to add here exceeded the allowance so I'm going to try another way. The above coves the gist of it.

Purchased a Mastercraft Door from Menards about 3 years ago along with several other doors. The door on our house is the only door of 5 MC doors we are having issues with. The finished is fading and peeling. You wouldn't expect to have to refinish yearly on a $1000 fiberglass door, but that is what they are telling us. I believe this door is a manufacturer defect since it is the only one with issues. One other door we installed gets the same amount sun exposure or more and us not flaking or peeling. I contacted MC and they basically told me they would not do anything for us.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

A door that costs over $1000 to purchase should not require yearly maintenance.  The other doors purchased at the same time and get the same amount of sun as the defective door, are not peeling.  This is a fiberglass door which generally means maintenance free and that is how the salesman made it sound to us about the doors when they were discussing the door.

When googling Fiberglass doors and maintenance, it shows fiberglass doors only needing washing. Not painting.

We spend $1000's of dollars a year at Menards maintaining 5 houses. If this how they want to treat us, we could just change and give our business to ********** or Lowes instead.
