Unprofessional! Took 2.5 months to fix our moped (1/2 of summer was over with). When we let them know we were on our way to pick it up, the owner threatened to start it on fire, take a video and put it on ********** He was so upset because we said we were going to pay with our credit card. Said he only accepts cash! When we picked it up, we got about a mile away and it started smoking! No surprise! We went back to the shop and asked them to pick it up and bring it back to shop to fix it and let us know when its ready. He texted us numerous times at all hours of the night, calling us names, using profanity and threatening us. When we went back to pick the bike up, we called the police to be there for safety and they ended up charging us STORAGE FEES FOR THE MOPED for the 3 days it was there!!! When they had it for 2 and a half months!!! TERRIBLE PEOPLE!!! Save your money and stress-go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!!

This customer brought their scooter in to "fix the muffler and replace the drive belt", specifically. We told him we do not normally do this type of work because our schedule is booked with way bigger jobs, but if he could leave it for awhile we would fit it in between stuff when we could. Any shop in town is booked out a minimum of 2 weeks. He said that was fine and he wasn't in a rush to get it done. When we did get to it, we first tried to fix the muffler, but the muffler was not fixable, it needed to be replaced, and we called them and told them the price of a new one and they had us order one identical to what was on the moped, then had to wait for it to come in (6 days). We replaced it and the belt (the original one was shredded inside the transmission case) and cleaned up all the mess inside from the shredded belt. At no point were we ever asked to diagnose WHY the belt shredded, and because sometimes it happens just from age (and neglect, which was very evident in the condition of the rest of the scooter - completely bald tires and bad brakes), we would have had no reason at that point to investigate any further. We were unable to test drive it due to the extremely poor condition of the tires and brakes (not safe at all) that he wasn't wanting to spend any money to fix, then let the customer know it was ready to be picked up. He did not respond for almost 2 weeks. When he did finally respond, he said he had been in the hospital and would be coming to pick it up in the next couple days, but he was upset about the price. Tried to tell us that he would only pay us $250 instead of $336. We told him that that isn't how it works, you need to pay the bill for the work you ordered done. We told him that if he wanted to pay cash, we could give him the cash discount price (due to no card fees) and he could pay $300 cash (which is actually more than just a card discount, but we just wanted to make the customer happy). He agreed, but never showed up to pick it up. Almost another week later, he called wanting to come pick it up and said he would be paying by card. We told him if he wanted to pay by card it would be the $336 original price. He got ridiculously mad and threatened to PHYSICALLY BEAT UP THE ***** of the business whom he was talking to on the phone over $36! His PHYSICAL THREAT TO OUR PERSONAL SAFETY was completely out of line but he mentions nothing about that in his review. He was told in no uncertain terms that that was unacceptable (and if he was going to come down to beat us up he could watch us set his scooter on fire at the same time due to his ridiculous personal threats over $36) and if he wanted to pay by card it would be the original price, period. They (him and his wife) finally showed up to pick up the scooter (7/25/23), test drove it around the block and said it was good, and then paid their bill with a card instead of cash. He was NEVER told we "only" accept cash, the only reason for the "cash deal" was because he was complaining about the cost and trying to get us to take money off the bill when we already charged them way less time than the job actually took. When they left here with the moped it was running and driving fine. The smoke they saw was the paint burning off the brand new exhaust we just put on (completely normal) but they later tried to insist it was the "wrong muffler." They got a few miles away and the belt shredded again, and that's when they came back here with accusations that we "installed the parts wrong and made it worse" which is completely false. They also demanded, multiple times, that we reverse their card payment until it was fixed, which we were not going to do because the repairs we billed them for were done and done correctly. We went and got the scooter and brought it back here (NO CHARGE) and upon further diagnostic (again, at NO CHARGE) found that the transmission was bad/binding up, CAUSING the belt to shred. We told them the scooter needed a new transmission to fix this issue and sent them listings online for the super-cheap ($40) transmission kit they needed, and told them that this was the underlying issue causing the belt to shred and had nothing to do with our original repair. They kept nastily insisting that it was our fault, throwing repeated accusations our way and telling us we messed up their scooter and we better fix it! Initially we told them to just pick it up and get it out of here within 3 days, we were not going to fix it for free, but once again, to try to make the customer happy (despite their attitude and ignorant accusations), we found a used driveline laying around from another scooter, and replaced their transmission with the used one. We only charged them $100 total for all of our time (2.5 hours) and the parts (a $300+ value) - NOT STORAGE FEES as they claim (they had been told they had 3 days to pick it up or it would be charged storage, but we did not actually charge them ONE ***** for storage). When they finally a full week later 8/1/23 (NOT 3 days as they falsely claim) came to get it they continued to accuse us of CAUSING the damage to their scooter in front of the officer (still not understanding that the scooter came in with the exact same damage originally, thereby proving that the transmission was the cause all along), and also told the officer that they were going to cancel their credit card payment right away for the original bill. Which they tried to do, but they lost. Now because they lost that, they're trying to damage our reputation by posting this full of lies review. They were given the option to take the fixed scooter and pay the $100, or we could take the transmission parts off and they could take it that way. They chose to pay the $100 and take the fixed scooter. Then later that day, they disputed their credit card charge trying to claim poor workmanship. Apparently credit card companies understand mechanics better than they do, because they ruled in our favor once we submitted the documentation to prove our case.Moral of the story: Threatening to beat up the owner and throwing accusations around that we caused the problem on the scooter is not how you treat a business, and then to try to s**** them out of payment for the work they did to top it off. Don't do any work for these people. They are ignorant of how the mechanics of a scooter works and because of their ignorance (and lack of trying to understand when we explained it numerous times) tried to threaten and intimidate us into taking responsibility for something that had nothing to do with us at all. They are the "terrible people" they claim that we are because any other business would have told them to pick up their junk and not fixed another thing on it.
