Goschey Mechanical was hired to install a furnace and ductwork. The estimate was ****** dollars total. After paying roughly ****** dollars, I was told that he needs to redo the work because he "must have done it wrong" (his own words). I then changed the locks, so he didn't have access, and all of a sudden I have an over due bill for 2500 dollars, and no work has been done. He billed me for buying the wrong parts 3 times on top of this. I should not have to pay for his mistakes.

This job was started in mid 2024 when a verbal estimated price was given to the customer.  After the estimated price was verbally given, the requirements for the job was changed several times.  Work was preformed to the expectations that the customer provided.  Communication with the customer has been problematic.  We have documentation of attempts where we reached out to the customer trying to get the work finished however no replies were ever made by the customer.  If anyone would like to see the documentation they are welcome to view it.

The customer states that wrong parts were ordered.  During the projects, parts were not available and it was made known and the decision was made to source parts that are readily available until correct parts arrived.  The customer agreed and we left the parts on site. When the correct parts came in, the previous parts were painted by the customer, causing them to be not returnable as supply houses will not take parts back that have been painted.  I still have over one thousand dollars of air grills that are special ordered and cannot be returned.

Customer also complains the job was performed wrong however after duct runs were installed, customer modified the plans and asked us to add 90 degree turns causing the static pressure to be off balance.  The contractor cannot be responsible for the plans altered by the customer against our advice.

It is very hard to work with a customer that will not call or text you back.  **** times we arrived at the jobsite, and it was not open and customer was late causing us to loose labor hours by waiting. Simple phone calls or text messages would prevent issues like this.  After 4 months of no replies, the final invoice was sent.  The customer must be receiving the messages because after the invoice was sent, the complaint was filed instead of reaching out to me.  Customer has overdue invoices and no communication.  I have been trying to avoid sending this customer to collections however we are reaching the point where this will be handed off to a collection agency.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Everything in Goschey mechanical's statement was either completely made up or was not accurate.  There was never any time that we were late and caused him lost labor.  They just showed up whenever they liked with NO COMMUNICATION, and they had access to the building's upstairs all the time, and the business was open during known hours.  ****** changed the plans on us, and the parts were painted by us after we talked to ******.  I have video to prove that he never showed up for the last invoice in question.  I know that ****** waited 90 days to send the email thinking our camera's didn't go back that far.  ALSO, as testiment to the character of the employees as Goschey, he caused damage to several things while working, again I have video evidence, and he never even attempted to make that right.  The owner called several female employees at my work "whores", "nasty" and made comments about some females being overweight.  These comments are not funny nor appropriate and completely unprofessional.  The only outcomes that I think are fair is that ****** Mechanical *** provides a written formal apology and dismisses the last invoice or a full refund and removal of all the equipment installed by someone other than the owner.
