On April 17th, 2024 I took my brand-new solitare, marquise-cut, morganite engagement ring to Rohr Jewelers to be sized down. I had to return the ring to the store twice - as the point where the ring was cut to resize it kept breaking back open. The 1st time was a few weeks after picking up it, the 2nd time was not even 48 hours after picking it up.When picking the ring up for the 3rd time on August 14th I noticed the entire face of the stone is deeply scratched. When I pointed this out to the clerk who returned my ring to me, they insisted that the damage must've already been there and that I simply couldn't see it until they cleaned it for me, refusing to entertain the possibility that they destroyed my engagement ring.Every jeweler I've since taken my ring to has confirmed the stone is damaged beyond repair. I now have to buy a whole new engagement ring after this ordeal. The band itself also had to be completely recast because of how poorly the band was resized.

      Attention Better Business Bureau:

We want to start by stating that the ring was not purchased from Rohr Jewelers.  We stand behind every product sold by offering free service to items purchased in our store. However, all items that are brought in for consult or repair (regardless of value) are treated with great care and expert service.

The abrasion was first noted by the client on August 14, 2024. The damage could have happened in the care of the wearer at anytime between April 17, 2024 and August 14, 2024; a six -month span of time within which the ring was in our care for a limited time and minor/low risk repairs. Our salesperson was only able to view the abrasion under 10X magnification of a microscope. The length of time that the ring was out of our store, and in the care of the clients, poses great opportunity for damage for which the store is not at fault.

To re-size a ring, a set stone is submerged in water while the heat of the jewelers torch is on the ring.  This process protects the stone from heat and abrasion. We repaired the ring per each request by the customer to our highest of standards.

The client has not contacted us directly in order to rectify the issue since the date of the last visit on August 14, 2024. Rather, the client has posted on multiple review forums with defamatory remarks about the store and the quality of our work. It is with regret that we decline further restitution to the client for damages.
