Dear BBB,I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Alexander Painting & Construction LLC on the recent bathroom renovation work that was completed on Tuesday, February 4th, ******. Vanity Placement and Light Fixture Issues The first and most noticeable issue is the placement of the vanity. It was supposed to be centered under the light fixture as is standard. However, upon completion of the work, it is clear that the vanity is off-center, which not only looks unprofessional but also disrupts the flow of the entire space. 2. Plumbing Not Up to Code Another critical issue is with the plumbing beneath the vanity. The plumbing has not been installed in compliance with local building codes. 3. Incorrect Wall Color I submitted the color sample to you for the renovation However, upon completing the work, I noticed that the walls were painted the wrong color. 4. Bathroom Flooring The bathroom flooring was supposed to be repaired using the supplied vinyl tile due to the upper bathroom shower leak. Instead of replacing the damaged tiles, the contractor tiled over the existing tile creating an additional layer. 5. Lack of Communication Regarding Issues At no point during the renovation did I receive any notification from you or your contractors regarding any potential issues or concerns that may have arisen during the work. 6. Request for Resolution On February 26th, 2025 I advised you that I had a plumber inspect the plumbing under the vanity and he stated that it was not code. I advised you that the company was charging me $540 to correct both plumbing traps under the vanities. You only offered to pay a portion and not the full cost of the repair. When I did not agree with the amount you were willing to pay, you retracted your offer.Due to your lack of attention to detail and unwillingness to correct these issues without charging I'm requesting a refund of $1740.00. The initial cost for the project was $5750.00.Sincerely,*****

Please find attached my proposal that was sent to **. ******* Originally, we were only contracted to create a access panel in that lower bathroom. ** ****** and I at some point verbalized additional work, without a signed contract. **. ****** stated that he would purchase both vanities(for the upper and now, lower unit) if I could give him the measurements. I gave him the exact measurements of the existing vanities. We were only contracted to remove existing vanity and replace with the same size. ** ****** took it upon himself to buy smaller vanities. He always talked about cost and budget, so when I noticed he bought smaller size units, I didnt question him. We had already removed both vanities. At this point, his Tennent was without a working sink in her bathroom for two days. She was not a happy camper, to say the least. We noticed that the original cabinet was a bit wider, allowed a bit more room for the plumbing. The new cabinet would work, but it would be tight. We then realized there was shelf blocking the p-trap and couldnt use a typical system. We used a new product called a bladder p-trap from **********,  that worked just fine. Again, We were never contracted to re-do plumbing, only dis-connect and re-connect, per my contract. We also noticed that the light fixture was a bit off center because of the smaller vanity. I told **. ****** we could move the light over for a small fee, he declined. As far as the flooring **. ****** provided for the lower bathroom, It was the most inexpensive material Ive ever worked with(peel and stick) He asked me to do the best I could with it. In this situation, we decided to go over exsting flooring rather then demoing completely, again to keep cost down. **. ****** said the floor look good and never complained at the time of inspection. I was never given a paint code for the walls. **. ******  never supplied any paint for the walls. I used a chip from the existing walls to get a match. The new color is not guaranteed to match exactly. **.****** never complained about the paint color at the time of inspection. **. ****** contacted me weeks after completion, stating that I owed him ****** for his plumber to re-configuer the p-trap or modify the pluming to accommodate his new vanity. I stated to him him that I would be willing to refund ****** for any culpability on my part, and that in fact he purchased the vanities, not me! He declined my offer. I only offered compensation to **. ****** to try and be as fair as I could be.I dont think he ever had any intention on being fair. **.****** also stated to me on ***** occasions that his Tennent owes 3 months back rent and that he hated to do any work on this property for that reason.
