** Coating came out on 4/15/23 and gave us a quote for colored base grout with a simple pattern and acrylic sealer for our covered patio. We signed the contract on 4/18/23 on which they quoted us $1400 but if we paid cash it would be $1200 and the job would take 2-3 days. They sent us the color and pattern guide, we chose desert sand and basket weave pattern. We were told then that they didnt have that pattern, so I chose cobblestone. They responded it would be $400 more for that pattern, although it never stated that in the contract. Why send the pattern guide if none are included in the quoted price? After the work was completed in 6 hours, not 2-3 days, we paid them $1200 cash. We contacted ****** at DC Coatings after 2 asking if they were coming back because it had chunks of grout, uneven color, and no type of matching texture, ie swirls in some places, chunks of grout , absolutely no consistency. He stated that is what we ordered but would come look at it a week ago. Crickets! Im attaching photos of the poor quality of work DC Coatings does.

Hired ****** to install an epoxy floor in my garage. Within weeks after he was done the floor developed a hole with water coming up thru it I contacted ****** and he said he had never seen that before but would be out to look at it over the enduring weeks three more spots developed. They all look like big rust spots. I contacted him again to say there were more spots and sent him pictures of the spots I have contacted him repeatedly by email by text message and by phone His phone message says he will return my calls but have not heard a thing from him since the complaint. My son called him and he answered right away and said he would come out within a week. Over a week has passed and have heard nothing from him. I think he is avoiding my calls

*************** had contacted me regarding the "spots" on his floor. When I talked to him, he stated "I am in no rush, I just wanted you to know about it, and when you have time, come take a look at the spots." I told him, I was busy (with other installs), but I would get to him. Now I will admit that it did slip my mind, but I did talk to his son (because he called me.) and told him I would contact his dad by the next week. I did, and told him I would be there by Wednesday (of the coming week.) for sure.

Now this happened somewhere between him contacting you, and me talking to his son. I saw **************** (and his Wife.) that Monday. I explained to him that his issue was a moisture issue (water coming up through the slab.) and that it was hitting the rebar in the concrete and that is what was causing the "rust" spots.

I told him I would get the materials together and fix it. And on Wednesday if this week, we did. I ground and patched the areas that were affected, and at the moment, the issue has been resolved.

Here are some pictures of the repaired floor.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    [Please type your response here.]

    Regards,

***************************.     ****** did contact us only after getting your complaint and did come out and grind and patch the spots.  However I reject his response that it was moisture coming up because if his epoxy coating was not faulty the rust could not have come up thru the epoxy  He did grind and patch the spots but on his own submitted pictures you can see he used a different color epoxy to patch the spots making the floor look even worse than the rust spots did. When he first came out he told us that other people would not be able to notice the patches  A person would have to be visually impaired to not see these patches  I am having a letter prepared informing him that I am not satisfied and reserve the option of legal action to get a proper solution to this problem
