I had a billing statement from this doctor that charged me for removal of nail bed twice and it was only with the one toenail. They arent willing to change that error and says its suppose to be there. I dont feel like its right paying for something extra

The patient was billed for two procedures done on the same toe. Onychoplasties (phenol/alcohol) procedues were done on both borders which constitutes two separate procedures.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In medical billing, procedures are coded using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. For toenail removals, common codes include:
CPT *****: Excision of the nail and nail matrix, partial or complete, for permanent removal.
CPT *****: Avulsion (removal) of the nail plate, partial or complete, simple; single. these codes are applied per nail, not per side of the nail. That is not right at all Under the No Surprises Act, providers are required to give a good faith estimate of costs before performing services and was not told I would be billed the way I was

    Dear *****,
We have tried to contact you multiple times to discuss the billing and resolve your frustrations or misunderstanding.  We did bill correctly, but we will remove the charge for the second ingrown border.   Since we recently received your payment, we will credit back to you the amount for the second border once the payment is successfully processed.  That amount in reimbursement will be $121.76.  If you would, please call us when you get an opportunity.
    Thank you,
    Wisconsin Foot Center
