Good morning,I had a home built in 2020 by **** Reetz **** out of *******, ** and moved in December of that year. This past autumn, I started to see nail heads protruding through the siding causing it to bulge. Since then, it has continually progressed to where there are hundreds of spots on my home where the siding is bulging due to the nail heads.A siding contractor came to my home a few weeks ago and said that the framers used cap staples which he saidIs not correct with Tyvek insulation and is used with the thick, Pink Panther insulation. Is not pounded in far enough due to the fact that it was incorrectly used by the **** Reetz **** framers. My builder ****** Reetz from **** Reetz **** assured me last fall that he would have both the siding and roof looked at and repaired this past spring. I have been attempting to touch base with him since March and have not heard anything from him since May. It now appears that he has no intention of repairing his companys mistakes like previously stated. The west side of the home shows them very clearly, especially when the sun is hitting the home. Im not sure what else to do at this point other than file a complaint with DSPS and BBB with evidence backing up my claim. His roofing contractor also mistakingly used a Harbor Blue shingle on the * end of the home, approx 25 sq ft which is the wrong color and completely stands out. He also assured me that he would correct that as well which he never did.My address is:**************************************** ************ I'm not looking to settle a major lawsuit, I just want him to correct the siding and roof. I spent a lot of money on this home and just want a roof that has matching shingles and siding that does not have hundreds of staples protruding through, causing bulging throughout the entire home. The siding is getting progressively worse and I fear that if it's not corrected soon, more problems will arise.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

I have closed my company.  I have forwarded the info about the siding and staple issue to the appropriate company.  This is he first I heard of the roofing. I will get in touch with the roofer to look at shingles.  I have not been in touch because I don't get all my electronic info all the time.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Mr. ********************** is one of the most unprofessional and inconsiderate people that I have ever worked with. His comment in regards to not responding back due to his lack of electronic devices is a blatant lie.  I have numerous screenshots of my efforts to contact him via text, email, and physical phone calls that he has read and never responded back to.  I could attach all of those as well if you need a reference.

Mr. **********************'s comment of him simply calling the framers and roofing contractor is unacceptable. He has been using this tactic on me since I began asking him about these current defects as well as previous defects. I still have not heard from his "window contractor" in regards to my windows icing over in the winter due to condensation. I have asked about that repeatedly since I moved in Dec, 2020. I would like us all (Mr. *********************** Framers, Roofing Contractor, Siding Contractor, and myself) to meet at my house to look at the damage and determine for 100% certainity who is responsible and and who will repair it. The siding on my home literally, has hundreds of welts and bulges on every section and continues to get worse. I met with the siding contractor that Mr. ********************** hired to side my house who was literally speechless. He completed a report and sent it to Mr. ********************** with his findings. I would like Mr. ********************** to send me the report he received from his siding contractor. His siding contractor also stated verbally to me that the siding will be a 100% tear off and needing new siding due to the negligence of the framers and the General Contractor (Mr. **********************) not conducting spot checks ensuring the work on the home was being conducted properly.

Once it's been determined who is liable to repair both the siding and shingles, I would like a written contract specifying who will be making the repairs and when it will be accomplished. Mr. ********************** simply telling me he will call them is unacceptable and ridiculous. He was ****** on the Spot returning calls, meeting me, and working with me when he was trying to win my business. Once I signed the Final Draw and he was paid in full, he could care less about me or my new home that needs thousands of dollars in repairs due to his contractors, under his watch, blatant negligence.

Working with Mr. ********************** has been a nightmare that I cannot seem to wakeup from. It has been issue after issue since I moved in due to shotty work by people that have no business constructing new homes. I have already spent thousands of dollars in repairs due to his negligence. Mr. *********************** himself, adjusted my sump pump and raised it nearly parallel with the floor tile causing my basement to flood last spring. That was the report I received from the plumbers I hired to adjust the sump pump. My insurance did not have sump pump coverage and I ended up spending over $15K in damages due to his negligence. Mr. ********************** saw the flood the first hand. I chalked that up as an accident and did not pursue damages from him which in hindsight, I should have. I cannot eat any more repairs and fork out thousands more of dollars due his negligence and incompetency.

All I'm asking for is the siding and roof to be repaired and to receive what I paid for. I started seeing the siding issues (just a few spots) back in Nov of 2020 which is on emails that I sent Mr. ********************** confirming. It continues to get worse and I fear that if it's not corrected soon, more issues with moisture, bugs, and other elements will cause more extensive damage costing even more to fix. Mr. ********************** was also very aware of the solid blue patch of mismatched shingles on the ** corner of the home. I observed that immediately and asked him. And again, he said he would contact the roofing contractor which I'm assuming he never did because it was never repaired.

    Regards,

    ***************************

    In response to customer:

Shingle Issues:  I called *** Supply, Inc.  They said all ***** Corning shingle issues are handled by ***** Corning directly with the customer.  Go to owenscorning.com, click on About Us at top of the page and look for Contact Us.  Complete your information and submit.  I have attached copies of the invoices from *** Supply, Inc.

After finally determining the siding issue is moving cap staples, I contacted ************** in *******, **.  I spoke with two people about the issue.  They assured me they will send someone to look at the siding.

This was the first and only panelized house I contracted with ****** who bought out ******* ******** Systems who I had previously used for years.

In all my years of doing business, I have never used cap staples, nor do I recall ever seeing them on any previous home ******* ******** Systems supplied.  I have no experience with this product nor was I informed of this change.

****** also supplied the windows and I thought they had already addressed this issue.

There is not a problem with the shingle themselves, it is the wrong color. There was a bundle of the wrong color shingles delivered with the color I ordered. The installer either didn't notice it, or installed it hoping that I wouldn't notice it. That patch of the wrong colored shingles needs to be replaced with the right color.

As far as the siding, it doesn't matter to me why it happened or who is repairing it,  I just want it repaired.

I would like a signed affidavit from you, ****** Reetz stating that you will be repairing the siding and replacing the wrong colored shingles that your roofing contractor neglected to notice or notify me of when he installed it.

    Regards,

The shingles have been delivered on October 2 or October 3 to the roofer to replace the wrong color shingles.  The roofer will be notifying **************** to schedule a time to do this repair.

I have called ****** twice already.  I will call them again this week if I don't hear from them.

Once the shingles are replaced I'll be satisfied with that portion of the complaint.

I'm not satisfied with the efforts of ****** and the siding repair. If ****** is not contacting the builder (General Contractor) regarding a major and costly mistake that they need to repair, they would never contact me or reach out to me. I believe D.B ********************** *** (****** **********************) needs to file an official complaint with BBB and the State of WI if that's truly the case. I could call Mad City, Hometown, or any other reputable siding companies tomorrow and have my home repaired within a few months, if not weeks. There's no reason this should be continuing to happen with ****** and Mr. *********************** This needs a resolution asap. I am also waiting on a ****** window rep to come inspect all of my windows that have layers of condensation build up in the winter months. I believe the windows are all defective and need to be replaced as well.

If Mr. ********************** agrees to sign a contract stating that I can use a reputable siding/window contractor repair my home and be billed directly to him, I will be happy and will close the case. Mr. ********************** can can take legal action against ****** for reimbursement if they continue to ignore his requests.
