On 11/26/2024 I took my car into the one repair shop that was authorized by my ******** extended warranty to find out what was wrong with my car that was making noise. The first time they called they said nothing was wrong. I told them to test drive the car again because there was definitely something wrong. They called a second time and told me my wheel bearings, brake pads, and disk rotors needed to be replaced. They also recommended I replace all 4 tires. Feeling like I didnt have a choice because it was the only shop in my area authorized by ********* I had the work done. Less than 6 weeks later I hear rotational grinding noises when driving. At this point I did not trust the repair shop that did the initial work, so I took it to a ****** dealership service department. Upon inspection they found the rear caliper to not be installed correctly (Caliper bolts missing on the drivers side) causing the whole caliper to move freely making contact with the wheel making noise and causing damage to the wheel. The caliper was almost off the rotor completely and could have caused serious safety concerns. If the caliper were to have fallen off there would have been no brake on the rear on the drivers side. ****** technician recommended replacing the missing caliper bolts and replace the rear brakes due to the rotors being damaged. The technician also found the *** connector to be broken off and recommend to install the hardware to resolve solution. The cost of repairs by ****** to fix the negligent repair work by D&D All Auto Repair causing the car to be seriously unsafe was $892.69.

The vehicle was towed to D&D All Auto Repair on November 22, 2024, due to a flat rear-right tire. The customer expressed concerns about a humming noise at high speeds and a shuddering sound when braking. We informed the customer that we would diagnose and inspect both issues and then contact the extended warranty company, *******. After reaching out to them, we would update the customer on what the warranty would cover and what it wouldn't. Any costs not covered by the warranty would be added to the customer's final balance, to which the customer agreed. We inspected all the tires and found that the rear-right tire had a large hole that couldn't be patched. The rear left and both front tires had 3/32 tread left. The technician also inspected the customer's concerns and recommended replacing the front brakes (the brake pads were on the red line with only 2mm left), rear brakes (pads left: 5mm, but the rotors were stepped), rear-left wheel bearing (3/10 play causing the humming noise), And tires. We contacted the extended warranty company to see if they would cover the repairs. They informed us that they could only cover the wheel bearing but not the brakes, as they are considered wear-and-tear items. We explained this to the customer, who agreed to the ***********************. After receiving approval for the repairs, the technician started working on the vehicle. Following the replacement of the parts, the technician conducted a test drive, and everything was functioning properly. We informed the customer that the vehicle was ready, and it was picked up on November 26, 2024. The customer paid a balance of $2,195.17 at the time of pick-up. More than three months later, the customer walked into the shop with paperwork from the dealership. The customer stated that they had to take the vehicle to a dealership for repairs on the rear brakes, despite our 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty. We explained to the customer that the vehicle should have been brought back to our shop for inspection and any necessary warranty work. Since the repairs were made at a different shop, our warranty was voided. We decided to contact the dealership to gather more information and promised to get back to the customer as soon as possible. The next day, we received a call from the customer's mother, who requested a full reimbursement for the work completed, as well as for the bill paid at the dealership. This also included the rear-left wheel bearing, which, as mentioned before, was covered under the Assurant warranty. We explained to her that a full reimbursement was not possible because the work done on the front end, the wheel bearing, and the tires were still in place and functioning properly. We offered a reimbursement for the rear brakes, which the customer declined.
