We did not have a good experience with Jacobson’s Moving and Storage. We selected this company largely because they agreed to move our pool table along with the remainder of our household items. An hour before the first truck was to arrive, Pati ******** called and told me that they would not be able to move the pool table We had been told that we would have two trucks with four men for our move. We had the same two men, who seemed very responsible, at all times and an occasional one or two men. We had only one truck available for the entire move. That lack of the agreed upon contingent of men and trucks most certainly caused an increased number of hours and increased cost. Several items that were to be moved were not moved and needed to be moved by us. There were a variety of other issues. The final bill was 42% higher than the highest estimate we had been provided prior to the move. Pati didn’t have a good explanation for the increased cost. When I questioned the amount, she reduced the amount to 33% higher than the highest estimate. My mistake was making payment at that time. After our final delivery it was noted that two pieces of furniture, a lift chair and a king size bed were damaged. This damage was noted when the men were still there, and they acknowledged the damage. I called Pati who said she would come over the following week to look at the damage but did not come. She refused to return my phone call and email. Between the cost of replacement/repair of the furniture, having to contract with another mover to move the pool table, having to rent another vehicle to move the items left behind, we ended up spending over $7,500. With a high estimate of $4,350, that represents cost 72% higher than the high estimate. Although Pati certainly presented a customer service-oriented approach prior to being hired, that obviously was not continued throughout and after the move. Be very cautious if considering this company for your move!
