      I received a quote of $2,700 to reroof my back porch, and he let me know they would need to replace some of the plywood and that would be an additional $55 a sheet, so I did expect some overage. The roofers showed up on 5/2 but didn’t complete the job (soffit and facia) and left scraps and sheet metal all over the yard and had obviously not run a magnet around the yard because I picked up a ton of nails, debris etc. I let Brian know on 5/5 and didn’t hear back, I contacted him again on 5/8 and was told Jose would show up on 5/10 to complete the work. Jose was a no call no show. I reached out to Brian again and they sent a couple guys out to finish the job on 5/12 but they didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish and they didn’t know what they were supposed to do so they left. I contacted Brian again an on 5/24 they showed up and “completed” the job. Upon inspection I found for the soffit, they went over the rotten wood which should have been removed, used white caulk on brown flashing, hadn’t completed the flashing on the the roof, didn’t secure other flashing, and left debris all over the yard. I called Brian again to let him know my findings and in the meantime he sent me a bill that was 57% higher ($4,250) than his original bid! He stopped by 5/26, for which I had to take a day off work. The crew came back later that day to finish and rework the soffit and left. Upon inspection I still found some rotten wood where it should have been removed and again debris was everywhere. I talked to Brian again and let him know I was less than satisfied with the job and let him know I’d be leaving a review online to which I just an apology without an attempt to make it right. It’a very apparent him and the crew don’t have pride in their work or care about their customers. I paid him and I can say the only thing he did efficiently was cash my check. If you want a sub standard job and some apologies Brian is your man - otherwise go somewhere else.

      My experience with Advocate Contracting and Brian was a mixed bag. Everything started out just fine. Brian was polite, professional and responded promptly. He gave a thorough presentation of his product. He even gave me a quote to help with negotiations on our home purchase. The pricing was also very good. Much lower than we had expected. Once we agreed and got the ball rolling, things went downhill from there. His communication wavered week to week. It seemed to me that he wasn't remembering or listening to what we were saying. Several aspects and details were forgotten or miscommunicated along the way. It took several emails back and forth to get the count of the windows right. Then the windows were ordered wrong, which was partially our fault for trusting and not reviewing the order. When it came time to do the work, he delayed the date 3 times. Each time offering a different reason for delay. When the crew finally did show they were prompt and fast. Everything seemed to be going well at this point. His crew was polite and professional until then end. They didn't finish the job. 2 different small jobs that I had requested to get done were ignored. Plus they left trash, tools and materials all over the property after they left. Brian sent the final email asking for final payment and our property was littered with junk and the job had not been finished. I had to withhold payment until they came back days later. I still don't feel they completed the window install but I am not experienced with window work and can't confirm. I am left having to add window jam extensions on the inside to level everything with the drywall before we add the border trim. That to me seems like something they should have finished.

The window agreement clearly states that jam extensions and trim will be applied by others.We provided everything that was listed in the agreement.I am sorry that you were not satisfied.
