    I purchased a truck bed from Schlafer Auto in ******, ** on 7/12/2024. I paid $1500.00/cash for the bed. I spoke with Al and *** from Schlafer auto on the phone before driving 3 hrs one way to look at it. They assured me it would work for my 2007 Dodge Ram 8 ft box truck. When I got to Schlafer's, the box was standing up not allowing me to see either end of it. It was in very good shape at that time. After talking to the Schlafer's, I felt they were an honorable company and was assured they could drive it up closer to where I lived-they owned property in the area. It was delivered on 8/5/2024 on a sided trailer with no padding/protection around it, and as a result, shows a lot of scraping/dents/paint damage as seen in the pictures. Also, while the grandsons delivering it were here, I pointed out a large dent with rust surrounding it that could not have happened in transport, but was existing at the time of sale with no mention of it. I contacted Schlafer's on 8/7/24 to discuss the damage that happened in transport. I had an estimate from an auto painter near me who thought he could repair the damage to the paint before it rusted for about $400. I had sent pictures of the damage to Schlafer's, in return the email read: After looking at the photos there will be nothing that I am going to do. The dent by the taillamp did not happen when it was moved up by you and it was not there at the time of sale. This is a used box and as you know used is not new. This was signed by Al Schlafer, who turned out to be his wife/secretary ****** Schlafer. He was to call me, but to date has not. I purchased this to put directly on my truck. It needs to be repaired costing me additional hundreds of dollars.
