STAY AWAY. This shady clinic critically injured my cat, blamed me & got me arrested. In June of 2024, my mother took our constipated cat, Pepper, to Underdog Pet Rescue located at 231 S Fair Oaks Ave. The vet performed 2 enemas. And Pepper's health rapidly deteriorated immediately after the enemas. When I brought Pepper back, the vet, Dr ******, recommended an invasive fecal extraction. But she didn't even bother to perform a physical exam or take X-rays. She was insulted when I asked for clarifications & requested X-rays. So I left. When I returned to Underdog to pick up Pepper, I was ignored by the reception staff. The only thing they told me was to sit down in the lobby & wait for the vet to speak to me. But the vet did not come out. While I was waiting, the staff called 911. MPD officers arrived & arrested me. Shockingly, Underdog critically wounded & euthanized my sweet, 8 year-old cat. But the police charged ME & took me to jail. Dr ****** falsely reported to police: "I was honestly concerned that he had a concealed weapon & might use it!" The vet also made ludicrous accusations that I cruelly tortured Pepper. She stated: "In my professional opinion, the cat had a torn rectum caused by a foreign object being shoved up the cat's rectum." The autopsy revealed that Pepper's health condition was actually the result of colon cancer. Tragically, the enemas & fecal extraction wrought devastating & irreversible injury to poor Pepper's rectum. And her negligence inflicted trauma, pain & suffering on a sick cat before ending his life. Due to Dr ******'s blatantly false allegations, I was unjustly humiliated & punished as a criminal. In court, the prosecutor even petitioned the judge to rule that I could never approach an animal. And to legally prohibit me from having another pet. The judge recognized the charges were fallacious & rightfully dismissed my case. But that does not excuse the vet's negligent, deceitful, malicious & thoroughly unprofessional behavior.
