      I am a former ******** Student eligible for the lawsuit claim as I attended ******** 2004-2008. They are supposed to discharge my collections due to the ******** Lawsuit and they have yet to show a closed out/ discharge on my account.

      Dear ********************,

      Thank you for your inquiry, sent to the Better Business Bureau of *********,regarding the cancelation of your ******* Family Education Loan Program (FFELP)******** Loans you received for attendance at *********************** (ITT) between September **** June 2008. Your inquiry was referred to the Ascendium Education ********** **** (Ascendium) Ombudsman for review and response.

      In early August 2022, the Department of Education **** announced they were going to automatically cancel loans borrowers received to attend ITT between January 1, **** - September 2016. For loans taken out between this period, borrowers do not need to do anything. With that said, Ascendium is waiting further direction and confirmation of the loans to cancel from **.  Once the guidance is received, Ascendium will begin processing the cancellations.

      Based on the effective loan dates included in **s most recent ITT cancellation release (January 1, **** September 2016),and since you have loans made in September ****, you need to contact **s Borrower Defense to Repayment (BDR) Hotline for information regarding the possible cancellation of your **** loans. You can reach a BDR Hotline representative by calling ************ between 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time (ET) Monday through Friday and between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Saturday through Sunday

      Please be aware on March 30, 2021, ** announced they were expanding the ******19 pandemic related student loan flexibilities to defaulted FFELP loan borrowers. **s March 30, 2021 announcement was further clarified in May 2021.The loan flexibilities include a reduced interest rate of 0% and reapplication of payments received after March 12, 2020 using this rate, a halt of involuntary collection activities, the automatic refunding of involuntary payments collected after March 12, 2020, and upon request the refund of any voluntary payments received after March 12, 2020.  These benefits began with a retroactive start date of March 13, 2020 and are scheduled to end December 31, 2022.
