    If I could give zero or negative ratings to Barnes, I would. This is a company that inflates both their actual working hours and the hourly rate. It exploits customers through misleading communication. Barnes removed a moderate-sized broken tree limb that fell into our neighbor's yard. The diameter of the tree limb is about 10 inches.. It was shocking that Barnes billed us almost $4000 for a job of this scope. Apparently, this job took a 3-man crew nearly 8 hours to complete, and Barnes generously charges its customers $175 per worker per hour. So the accounting goes as 3 men * 7.56 hours * $175/worker/hour = $3,969, plus tax. In addition, Barnes charges the same hourly rate per worker for travel as well. The tree limb fell into our neighbor's yard during the storm on May 21. Barnes had a crew working on our neighbor's landscaping project at that time. One of their workers approached us and offered to remove the tree limb. My husband talked with the manager on the phone and was told that it would take about 5 hours at $175 per hour. We thought the price ($875 ~ $1,000) was fair so we gave the green light. We learned our lesson the hard way not to ever work with Barnes ever again when we received the $4,000 bill in the mail.
