    We hired this company to work on our building. He was hired to repair water damage and erect non-load-bearing walls on the north side of the building. We signed a contract that stated he would be responsible for obtaining a permit for both jobs, and he told us he secured the permits before he started work. When the city inspectors came to inspect our electrician's work, they informed us that ******* Rogers's work was not permitted. We reached out, and he told us not to worry, blaming it on a city error, but since March 28th, 2024, he has not responded to any messages I have sent. We contacted the city and set up a meeting to which ******* was invited. He never responded to the messages sent. I prepaid him for materials, which included a door (which he had to return) and drywall and the necessary materials to do drywall, and he hasn't come back to complete the work, as I only have framed walls that are not finished correctly. The city has stated that there were no attempts by ******* Rogers to obtain the proper permits, and when I asked if he was registered with the city, the city claimed he had never been registered. When looking up his name with the Wisconsin ********************** I could not find his contractor license, even though he stated he was licensed. I need help retrieving my money for permits (+Fines) and materials. I cant have him continue to work on the project as he is not qualified, and the work is poor. I paid him $700 for materials for the first job on January, 24th 2024 I paid him $1367.87 in total for labor for the first job. January, 25nd 2024 Total for first job: $2067.87 I then paid him $2,500 for materials for the next job in February, 23rd 2024 He was then Paid $3,017.50 for labor on the framing dated March, 2nd 2024 Total paid for the second Job: $ ******** As per the contract, he was supposed to return to do the drywall after the electricity was finished; once that was completed, I would have paid him another $3,017.50 for labor.
