    **** is refusing to leave us with a code-complaint, finished product. He is refusing to read our communication outlining our requests and descriptions of construction defects. Partial payment has been made (151k), contractor is demanding additional payments given (remaining payments are 35k at this time, although being disputed). The following are the noted construction defects: Repair holes in ceiling above ventilation duct, Ceiling Cracks-Patch and paint any ceiling expansion/settling cracks. Complete finish of Hardwood Floor- which is being billed for and he is demanding more money to provide a finished product. Wall Paint is peeling -**** told us this was a product/paint issue on 9/6/22. We have documentation in which he state responsibility for this. Later, he blamed us for use of painters tape on drywall painted approximately 6 months ago. Bathroom Door Handles/Lock Mechanism do not meet code/compliance. We have documentation of support of using these doors and subsequent billing of his crew to pull and install doors. Basement staircase railing was removed by ****/crew. He is refusing to return staircase to original condition. Installed exterior windows, billed for and paid by owners - 3rd party told us they were unfinished. No attempt has been made by contractor to complete these. We emailed him asking him what needed to be done to provide us with a finished product. On 9/22, contractor emailed refusing to put in additional effort until more payment is made. **** also stated he is refusing to read our communication of our concerns and construction defects. Additional concerns: witnessed/documented labor inefficiencies, "out of order" work resulting in work done twice/forgotten/missed or our time to correct, withheld lien waivers, no right to cure brochure given, reduced labor costs/increased profit margins without communication, materials removed from site without our consent, warranty info withheld.
