We contracted with Wick Buildings through their local representative, Liberty Buildings to build a barn. We initiated the process in November 2019. We paid a deposit more than $9000. The project required a permit from the city, and was contingent upon obtaining a permit. The city would not issue a permit for a barn to be built on the only area of our property that had the space. I stayed in contact with *************** throughout the process and he was well aware of the permit issues and offered a few ideas that werent successful. I notified him that we would not be able to get a permit and we would have to cancel our contract. He stated that would not be a problem and that we would be responsible for the cost of the plans which he estimated to be about $2500. We agreed on that, COVID shutdowns delayed everything, but at some point ************ told me that the company would not be returning any of our deposit, as they ordered materials prior to providing me with plans that were required to apply for a permit. They considered all materials to be custom order and therefore, non refundable. ************ agreed that these items were all general building items, not special order items. ************ told me that they would sell the materials to other projects and then I would be refunded as the items were redirected, which could take a considerable amount of time considering the problems of COVID. ************ stopped responding to me so I sent emails to the company president. I have never been able to get a response from the company. I reached out again to ************ and told him that if I paid for the materials, I would like to receive them and would. He placed some calls to the company and relayed to me that the inventory supervisor, ******, stated that none of my materials could be located, but no refunds would be issued.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have received NO communication from anyone at Wick Buildings. I have been in contact with *************** from Liberty Buildings, who has been attempting to help us resolve this matter. ************ relayed an offer from ******************** of $3000.  Considering we paid WICK BUILDINGS $11,390 and all we received were plans that the company priced at $2173, leaving a difference of $9217, I find an offer of $3000 to be unacceptable. To be clear, the contract we signed was with WICK BUILDINGS, not LIBERTY BUILDINGS.  The check we wrote was to WICK BUILDINGS, not LIBERTY BUILDINGS. To date I have received zero correspondence, to include responses to my emails and phone calls, from WICK BUILDINGS.

      Regards,

      ******* And ***************************
