I took my **** **** comforter to North Pointe Cleaners on October 18, 2023, to be dry cleaned. It was expected to be ready for pickup on October 27. I received a phone call that it would not be ready until October 31. However, it had not been delivered to the location on that date to be picked up as promised. I called twice on November 1st and it was still not there. I was then given another phone number to call, of which no one would give me the status of the comforter, other than the manager was gone for the day. On November 3, I received a message to contact the company. I did so on November 6, only to find out that it had heat damage done to my comforter and there was about a five inch hole in the top layer of my comforter. The owner said he had completed the work himself and claims he hit "fluff" instead of the "heat" button, but admits the comforter had heat damage done to it, which he deems a mystery. He then tried to insinuate that I brought it in with a hole, which I did not, and that a previous dry cleaner had damaged it, which they did not. At that time, he wanted to make it right with me and offered to try and fix the hole, which I wanted him to do, as well as compensate me for the damage, of which he was in agreement. He said I would not have to pay for the dry cleaning because of the damage. He said he had to talk to his wife, who also works for the company. On November 8, he changed his tune. They refused to try to fix the damaged comforter and offered to EITHER give me my comforter back as is OR pay me $50. He told me I could get a much better comforter than I had for that amount--not true. He insisted I take the $50 instead of the damaged comforter. The comforter was finally returned to the store on November 10-- TWENTY-THREE days after I had initially dropped it off. I have my comforter back, but also had to pay more than $50 to have it repaired because of his negligence.I would like $75 to cover my expenses to have it fixed.
