    My wife and I have been living in Evergreen Terrace for about 15 months. For the last 7 months we have been having issues with mold growing in our apartment. We have sent management numerous emails about this issue. Maintenance has come to our apartment twice, first time sprayed bleach and told us to do this when we see the mold and last time to measure air moisture. Everytime we have found mold we sprayed bleach. In January we notice my wife and started having breathing problems and had to go to the doctor. Then we started seeing mold in our bedroom everywhere. So I sprayed bleach and went to the office to complain. Nothing didn't happen after the complaint. On 03/16 my wife and I woke up with bad headaches and breathing issues. Started moving furniture around and saw black mold in two of our rooms. Sent email to management with pictures and stopped by the office to complain. Management never responded. The mold is discoloring the wall and wood in the apartment and has ruined pieces of our furniture. Management knows this and never responded. Management of this company has been horrible. Only care about getting the rent while their tenants suffer. Thinking about getting a lawyer about this matter. We have numerous pictures and proof of contacting management with no resolution.

    April 7, 2022, ************************* sent an email to our office regarding "green mold" in the corner of the master bedroom. Our maintenance staff on April 7, 2022 (same day) went into the apartment and inspected the areas mentioned in the email, it was cleaned with bleach. The drywall was firm to the touch, meaning the discoloration did not penetrate the surface or briginate from behind the wall. At this visit our maintenance person noted the unit was "very humid."

     

    March 16, 2023, ************************* sent an email to our office regarding mold in the apartment, he also stopped in our office that day to ensure we received the email. He stated that he and his wife will be out of town for a week so we could go into the apartment at anytime to inspect and clean-up. Note that this was almost one (1) year from the first email, and we received no such complaints during that 1-year period. The tenant renewed his lease during that time.

     

    On March 21, 2023 (during the tenant's absence) our maintenance staff entered the apartment, inspected the areas, noted the walls were not soft and cleaned the areas with mold and mildew spray. This was one (1) day after the tenant's BBB complaint, which was unknown to us at that time. Other than recited above, we have had no communication from the tenant on this matter.

    To provide some context, this building is heated with electric-powered units mounted on the baseboards, with heat "radiating" from these units. Thus, there are no "forced air" furnaces which mechanically circulate the air. If a tenant does not occasionally crack open
