Backwoods Construction was hired to replace a rotten bathroom floor and flooring. When they, removed the rotten flooring, it was replaced with plywood that was higher than remaining floor which would cause the vinyl to tear in time and cause a trip hazard. The toilet was not secured to the floor, he attempted numerous times and finally said he did not know what else to do. He had a cut and tears in the vinyl he put in. He had caulked around the toilet, that was not necessary, and looked terrible. The caulking around the vanity and wall boards also looked terrible. He did not cut the bolts off from the toilet that bolted it down to the floor (not well secured). The helpers had tracked in tar all throughout the house from a previous job. After they left I went down to the basement and found that the water connections were leaking, called them and they came back. Initially I was told, that where it was leaking, was not where they worked. It was indeed where they had tried to repair the water lines. In the process of removing the toilet, they broke the water supply line to the toilet. In the process of trying to repair it, they cut the wrong supply line (cut the supply line to the sink). Then cut and attempted to repair the supply line to the toilet. Both connections he tried to repair still leaked. He added more glue on the outside of the leaking joint and it still leaked. Still leaking, he said they had to run to town for connectors, this was at 5:30 in the afternoon - being very frustrated asked them not to come back. Everything that they did had to be re-done - which we found out that he had put new plywood over rotten plywood, used the wrong bolts to anchor the toilet ****** (used self tapping metal scews to secure the toilet ****** and new subfloor), did not replace the toilet ******, which in time would cause the toilet to leak. Replacement vinyl had cuts and tears, water connections needed to be replaced.
