      I had to file a very complex Offer-in-Compromise with the IRS, and was assured this was something Meicher could handle. They made several big mistakes that led to the entire process dragging out, including missing a major expense that needed to be explained. Because it was not, I had to go back to Meicher a year into the OIC process and request more an amended return (for which I was charged about $800) in March of 2022. I signed this amended return and sent it in, but Meicher didn't tell me they usually send amended returns like this one directly to the IRS. They also didn't send it automatically. Five months later, the IRS still hadn't processed the mailed copy, and delayed my OIC further.
      When I asked Meicher, they just said they never advise clients to send paper copies (??). When I asked why they hadn't sent it in, they said they were still waiting for my "electronic signature." They never told me an electronic signature was needed, or advised me not to pick up and send paper copies.
      In short, after making mistakes on the OIC, they charged a lot for an amended return, and then didn't communicate with me on how to send it in. This cost many months of waiting, and I'm now likely to have a house go into foreclosure because of it.
