    I have reached out to the Servite Woods *** several times via phone, email and letters, for the past 2 years regarding the owner above me who has creaky floorboards and no padding under his carpet. The *** has not responded to any of these communications. As a result, I wear headphones constantly as the noise is maddening. I have also reached out to the tenant directly and he has refused to comply with the needed changes so I can live peacefully in the home which I purchased in 2016. This constant noise all day and night is not something that is tolerated and has affected my mental well-being. I am reaching out to the BBB for assistance in addressing this matter with the Servite Woods *** before I seek legal counsel.

    The Servite Woods Homes is a condominium complex and not a business.  We are governed by our documents as are our individual unit owners.  There is no restriction on the type of flooring ******************** upstairs neighbor or any other owners can install on his floors.  The developer installed flooring which is located on the surface of the upper unit onto which any owner supplied flooring may be installed is not comprised of "floorboards" but is a type of poured material similar to concrete. There are approximately 79 other units constructed the same as ****************** with no other complaints.

     

    ****************** has complained in the past about whoever has lived in the unit above hers including previous owners.  She has been encouraged to contact her neighbor in an attempt to resolve her issues as the association itself does not have any authority.  Perhaps she should consider making a report to the ********* Police Department.

     

    If ****************** would like our ***** of ********* to attempt to mediate this matter for her, she should make a written request for the ***** to request her and her neighbor to appear at a meeting so both sides of the issue can be addressed and sorted out.  Our next scheduled meeting of the ***** should be on 2/15/2023 unless changed when the new ***** is seated on 1/15/2023.
