      This bank does not protect your accounts after an identity theft issue. A password was placed on the account to add an extra level of protection since the thief now has a driver’s license making her look like she is me so asking for an “id” is not enough. I have brought the issue of their tellers not asking for the password to both the bank manager and customer care and nothing has changed. If you want your money protected, I would choose another bank! I’m only giving one star because you can’t leave them all blank!

      Seek another lender! Auto loan for 5 months, have yet to have a payment post appropriately. Over 10 hours on the phone with multiple phone calls for correction, payments posted incorrectly according to the memo line on payments vs. principal, differing statements from customer service reps for posting updates on account. 24-48 hours, some state 24-72. Automatic banner announcement once logged in suggesting weather and other delays with postal service, no other financial institute I do business with has this level of red flags. My advanced payments cannot be processed correctly. Statements are not detailed like other financial institutes. If you are a customer watch your account(s) very carefully and do not expect much for resolution even if critical messages are added to your account. Take your business elsewhere!

      My previous frustration below. I am currently on hold, again to fix a payment that was processed incorrectly. The agent on the phone advised that I must call each time a payment is made to have the funds appropriately applied. A completely different answer from the supervisor who was adding a cridical note to my account just over a week ago. She stated I was incorrect, and he would tell me the same. I asked to speak with a supervisor as the manager was not available, when transferred I could hear rustling but no answer on the other line, currently awaiting at 21:30 minutes awaiting someone to say something. I do not appreciate the games this financial institute plays. Do not use this institute for you finances!!!! ************** 06/09/2025 Seek another lender!       I have a new car loan through this bank, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had trying to pay for a car. My SECOND payment was incorrectly coded as a principal payment because I paid too early. (about 14 days early, not weeks early) I've called them several times to rectify this, and almost two weeks later, it is still not fixed. The last time I spoke to a customer service representative, they told me the issue was taking longer to fix because the department that handles these corrections is experiencing a number of the same complaints. So I am not the only one who is having issues. In the meantime, I made my third payment, which is now messed up because the second payment has not been corrected. I would never recommend this bank to anyone, and I will be refinancing with another bank and looking into filing a formal complaint with the **** or ****.

      I give this bank a -100 (yep, minus 100) rating. Paid extra on my car loan each month and one of the payments doesn't even show on my Payment History. I have only had this account for 4 months. The total amount of one payment went towards the principal and none towards the car payment. What a nightmare! I want to know who made that decision? I have made numerous phone calls, talked to someone different each time. I was told over and over, all your payments show (NO THEY DO NOT) and I send my payments in TOO EARLY. So I am punished for too early and told not to do that by a representative I spoke with. I called again today and actually spoke with someone who gives a **** and agreed with me. One of the payments is not posted. Is this Bank taking my money for investments and not properly putting it on my account? Sure seems that way. This Bank is highly rated with the BBB and ******** and in the BILLIONS. I think they need to take another look. How many people have had their accounts messed up? Maybe they need to take some of their billions and invest in hiring competent employees. I am pulling my account and will NEVER NEVER NEVER deal with this Bank again!!! Even if they are the last Bank on earth, I will NEVER!!

      I was notified by a credit reporting agency that a checking account was opened using my SSN and another person Name& Address!
      Identity Theft
      On 12/ 5) at a Associated Bank location( unknown) I contacted the customer service and provided my SSN, they said they would freeze account and investigate
      I called back several times and using my SSN we’re able to say Investigations still on going and would update me by phone of any new information. This morning when I called they said they had NO record of any of this ever happing I asked to speak with someone in fraud department they said they would not divulge that information, to date I have put fraud alerts on All 3 credit agencies and also frozen access to them, I also filed a police report, and with ******** ********* ********** ****** * ****I have spent the last days trying to correct this situation, but the Bank seems unable or unwilling to help!

      I was in the process of purchasing a home with this bank, loan officer ****** ******** failed to provide me with correct information, she also was one of many people who tried to force me to purchase a home that even after expressed concerns several times throughout the process. I also reached out to the manager who in turn failed to help me with concerns I was having. I have proof that everything she did to bully and force me to make this home purchase. This is one stop on many complaints I will be moving forward. I am a first time home buyer and this was a horrible yet stressful experience I have ever had. I will also be posting all my proof showing that she acted without integrity, demanding, bully tactics, threats of a law suit and having outside conversation with the realtor(***) and the listing agent for the seller(*******) stating that she would be processing my Home Loan weather or not I agreed with things that were going on. She told that once I wrote offer on a house I had right to change my mind.

      Opened a CD at a promotional rate. At maturity it would automatically renew at some ridiculously low rate. Called customer service of the date of maturity to move the money to my checking account, a pretty simple transaction. I was told I was required to go to a physical location to transfer the founds. So I drove there on my lunch break. The Teller informed me I had to meet with a banker to complete the transaction. Wasted 20 minutes for something that should be as simple as a few clicks online.

      Frustrated to say the least. Took out a loan for a car with them over a month ago. ****** is stating that they have yet to receive the money and is threatening to Repo my car / take to collections. Associated Bank has been TERRIBLE with communication. Just outright terrible. After prying the information out of them turns out they lost my cashiers check but theyre attempting to make things right. Meanwhile ****** is still calling me to threaten to take my car away. Even though this loan has YET to be finalized and associated bank has admitted this is their fault, they are still auto drafting my payments for the car that is still technically not even mine. How is that even possible?????It was significantly easier to take a home loan with a different financial institution than it has been to take out a very simple car loan through associated. Extremely frustrated and have yet to get a solidified answer on how I will be made whole for the countless hours and stress I have put up with. Not to mention that because of this, ****** is calling my place of employment informing our employees that I have late payments. ALL BECAUSE ASSOCIATED CANT MANAGE A CASHIERS CHECK.

      0 stars. These people have frozen my fathers account without any communication. I have power of attorney and they want me to explain withdrawals. WHO ARE YOU. My dad and I are more than capable of handling his affairs. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with because they are preying on citizens of ***********************

      You have much better choices than this bank. I have nothing good to say about them. Example: took out credit card (Elan) thru them several years ago. Never late, never abused. Las! week paid card 2 days late... bam!! $30 penalty!!!! Went on line and found that most credit card companies forgive late fees if you are not abusing the privilege. Just need to contact customer service.
      What a joke. Customer Service is a misnomer here. Contacted bank via chat and was given the literal shaft. Again I have used to be a perfect customer with this bank. Not any more, Associated!
