Called for a free consultation beginning of 2024 for a bankruptcy. Call Feb 2024 to make a deposit. Got a text ***** days later saying my file has been closed due to inactivity. I called and they stated until they receive full amount they are not doing anything (owner is claiming that is incorrect) I found a different lawyer who would do it cheaper so I called June 2024 for a refund sent my letter and then was told my contract said it was nonrefundable. I informed I did not sign or receive a contract in the mail at all. The person who handles the refund claimed she spoke with owner and agreed yes nothing was signed and schedule an invoice conversation on 07/29. I spoke with the owner/******** and he is now claiming to bill me the time for the FREE consultation, the call to pay the deposit and the call for the refund and is trying to charge more than what was even deposited. No contract was received or sent back. Owner even claimed you are not listening correctly Owner/Attorney was stating he had information about me and that justified the billing, the information I gave him was all information from the FREE consultation. Billing for a free consultation, paying for it and asking for a refund is not ethical. Never pick the first ******** that pops up on a ****** search.

      To whom this may concern:

Our office responded to ****************** inquiry and provided him with the information necessary and required. Our office is responding again to advise that ************** received all of this same information as well as spoke with Attorney Check regarding this in July 2024. ************** conveniently left these responses out of his original complaint filed.

Attached in our response is a copy of the Supreme Court Rules regarding Attorney Fees, a copy of our Attorney/Client contract page, as well as the refund invoice generated once our office received the refund request from **************.

If you have any further questions or concerns, or may need anything additional from our office, please let us know as soon as possible.

      Thank you!

*************** spoke to our office about this issue.  She had two creditors contact her after the bankruptcy, AT&T and *******.  Once she gave ** the information about both we looked in her file and informed her that she listed AT&T as a creditor but failed to list ******* so therefore ******* never got notice of her Bankruptcy.  I informed her that we would be glad to send a reminder to AT&T to cease and desist contacting my client as a violation to the automatic stay, which we did.  I told her to get me the ******* information and we will still send ******* a notice of the Bankruptcy filing.  To date, the client did not get ** the ******* information.  Once we receive the information, we will be glad to send the notice of Bankruptcy.

We did a great job on her Bankruptcy filing.  *************** received her discharge from the Bankruptcy Court and all her debts were discharged.  I also spoke to her personally about everything in the first paragraph above.  Please contact me if you need any additional information.  Thanks
