This complaint involves the pouring of a concrete driveway in late fall which included a guarantee that the concrete would be the color white in the spring and it would be graded properly in such a awy that water would not "pool" or "puddle" on the new concrete. In spring the color was a very blotchy gray and rust color. I was told by the business owner to give it a few months and let the sun bleach the concrete white, that the poor appearance of the concrete was due to the mixture having "too much alkaline in it when it was poured." At this time I also pointed out to the business owner that there were serveral chips in the concrete and a low spot in the concrete between the back door and garage where a large puddle would form whenever it rained. The puddle was directly in the path used to access the garage from the house. I waited until June of 2024 and contacted business owner to let him know the concrete had not turned white, chips and puddle were still there. He said he could seal the driveway to make it all one gray color, deeped a line in the concrete for drainage of the puddle and fill in the chips. He came to our home sealed the driveway a gray color, he used his concrete saw to do something to help with the puddle and put some product to repair the chips. Today, I have a driveway with seven black smear marks on it that are the product he used to fill in the chips, (the color apparently did not match the driveway, it it a dark black - not grey), the puddling is still there, and the sealer has started cracking. The concrete is again multiple colors and an eyesore to look at. The business owner was great at acknowledging the three issues of color, chipping and puddling, but his fixes were completly ineffective. He did acknowledge the job was done poorly. I am very dissatisfied with the result of the business owner's attempt at "fixing" the items and the final result does not macth up with the original promise.

Sorry to hear that  we fixing the issue of the driveway or chips  last year when you called us. Probably demege because of the salt, because only happens in front of the driveway the first squares,  possible hit the new concrete when you putting salt to the old driveway we recommend no salt the first year  we say no salt because it's no warranty for salt or other chemicals, the colors of the concrete depend on the company supply not every company is the same color the color of the color of that concrete is Grey or light gray

We sealer for making one Grey  color and we do it great job after we fixed never received any call or message from you  if you not happy we don't receive calls from you   even till this day, we offer one year warranty  the job we do it  Nov 2023 now is 2025 the year warranty expired already   but if you interested Probably we can repair the squares   the issue  but you have to call the company for any  arrangement  where they can help you.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Mr. ******* ********, I am very disappointed. I hired you to do a job you told me could do and I treated you and your men fairly. I bought you and your men Subway the first day you came for the patio work and had Pepsl for you when you came back. I do not believe this is a job you are proud off or would show to a prospective client. I appeal to your senses as a man when I say you should not be treating us this way and I think you know you did not do a good job.

We deserve the job we paid you $5,000 for you to do. In your response you did not even respond to the issue of the continuned puddling and black marks you put on the driveway with your "fix." You know in your heart you put those black marks on the driveway with your improper fix. As far as the concrete not being "white" from the supplier that really has no bearing because you told me on 4/19/2024 when you came over to collect the ***** dollars for patio completion, when I asked you directly why the concrete never turned white like you said it would you told me that it would. You told me the concrete would turn white after you installed it in Nov. You then told me on 4/19/2024 that it should turn white after a few hot days in the summer. On that same day I also pointed out to you a couple of areas where it looked like the concrete was flaking or chipping. You told me that shouldn't have happen and that you must have gotten bad concrete. You also said the guy must have sold you bad concrete and the guy should have to pay for that. You also said that other concrete you poured at the same time as ours had the same thing happen. We settled on, I would wait a little while to see if the concrete turned white in the hot sun and you said when you were doing a job in the area you could come back and replace the couple of slabs that had chipped. You said you could cut those sections out and replace them.

I followed your instructions and did not use salt. I have concrete that has a sealer on it that is cracked all over, black marks on it and puddling that you already admitted existed and you tried unsucessfully to fix once already. You know that this is not a job well done if the customer has a large puddle on their new ********************** in the walkway between their back door and the garage service door. I am disappointed that you really seemed like a man of integrity until you messed up and now you just want to tell me to pay you $5.000 for a job poorly done and to just go away.

Given the new information above I would like you to address the issues of: 1- the puddling that you said you could fix, but it is still an issue, 2- the black marks from your fix, 3- the concrete not turning white as you said it would and 4- the sealer cracking.

Also, did you look at the pictures that accompany this complaint? All of these issues are shown in those pictures.

    Regards,

    ****** *******
