We've been defrauded by *******************************, owner of Complete Painting & Carpentry. ********** provided a quote, took our initial deposit & scheduled a start date. We'd worked with him 10 yrs ago so we had no reason not to trust him as an ethical businessman. He arrived without equipment/crew on morning of start date. He took our 2nd installment saying he/crew would be "right back after getting supplies". Check cashed immediately. Waited 2 days. No show/contact and no response to our calls/texts. No contact for 3 more days. We googled & found troubling recent reviews, including other clients owed $ for services not provided. When he responded to our texts, said there was a loss in family, apologized & we agreed to reschedule. Then he texts repeatedly asking for MORE money. We declined, but gave him 2 more chances to show up/do the job. Failed to show. We called off the job and asked for our deposit to be returned in full. Didn't happen. Complaints in progress with state consumer/licensing agencies. ******** notified, neighborhood association alerted. Police report in progress. Preparing for legal and criminal action.In summary:********** claims and actions made by Mr. ************************************** A+ Better Business Bureau rating on marketing materials and signage. Actual rating is an F.Claims licensed and insured in the state of ********* on marketing materials and contract. State licensing agency was unable to find current license or insurance data.Claims an address for his business that is no longer valid. Phone number listed by Better Business Bureau is also invalid. correct number for ******************************* is ************. Our contract specified second installment due upon start of work. ********** took second installment, promising to be right back@ and never showed. No work has been completed nor has our requested refund occurred.

    No longer on the referral list for well known real estate company. Hired and signed contract for exterior painting and carpentry. Work was to begin on 4/29/24. Illness prevented team from coming. No communication without outreach from me. Asked for more $ on Thursday that week and crew will show up. Declined and silence. One month later no work done , excuses upon excuses- transmission went up in truck , storage unit broken in and grinders stolen, fathers health poor. As courtesy asked for new start date- 5/28 by 9 am- No Show. Filed police report and told officer would show tomorrow. I cancelled contract! Want my money back but not holding my breath. Legal action and filing suit. Beware!

    I saw Complete Painting reference on next door and called for a project. We hired ***** (provided by ***** and with Complete Painting sign in our yard) in April 2023, he asked for Venmo payments. We could have accepted some problems with quality, but we were double charged and have spent 6 months now with empty promises to return the $2,150+ owed to us. He sent "emergency payment request" separately to my wife while she was visiting her dying mother. There is no dispute that it is owed, but there has been $250 returned on $2,400+ despite many texts and promises. All we are looking for is a return of the overcharge, we have paid more to fix the poor work completed and understand we agreed to pay him, but we have now had $2,150 stolen from us by ***** and his workmen.

    In early July 2022 Complete Painting and Carpentry was completing some work they had done at my daughters house, 2 miles away, and we reached an agreement that their next project would be installing composite deck boards on the deck above the back porch of our house for $2300 including materials. On July 21, 2022, we wrote them a down payment check for $1500. They wanted roughly 2/3 down rather than 1/3 because they needed extra money to buy the materials as well! The check was cashed on July 25, 2022.(I have a photo copy of the canceled check and his signature on it. ) For the next year and almost 2 months we received an incredible string of cancellations, excuses and periods of non-communication which I could substantiate with emails and texts , but suffice it to say that the work was never even begun and I never saw the boards that he supposedly bought with part of the $1500 down payment. I don't doubt that some, if not all, of the excuses were legitimate, and I shared my sympathy with them, but the handling of the situation was disorganized, inconsiderate and administratively incompetent! I will try to share my text messages over the last couple of weeks with *****, the owner, to illustrate my point! I am filing this complaint to obtain a refund of my down payment by cash or cashiers check.
