I brought my ring here to get the prongs fixed around the diamond on my engagement ring. I said id like to get it resized and soldered together if they could & had time but if not I just wanted the prongs. I went today, it fit now, but when I got in my vehicle I noticed the prongs were untouched. I went back in & pointed it out to the lady at the counter, I stayed friendly & pointed out that the prongs were the entire reason I brought the ring & she even stated oh yeah I remember that. She then took the ring in the back to have another woman look at it & I could tell that woman was upset. That woman came out & was defensive saying they did do repair work on it & that the prongs are to small & they cant move them. I told her that's not acceptable as I paid for them. The best she could offer me was to leave the ring with them & they'd take another look or to bring it back when I return from vacation. I decided to go get a second opinion. The other jeweler looked at the ring & pointed out that whoever had my ring had damaged it in 5 spots between the stones on the band, & that the prongs are plenty big enough for the stone, & noticed a gold spot on my rosegold band in a spot where it should have been a divot. So I went back to bassett and the woman was more defensive this time and started to tell me what a nightmare my rings were to work on, and that the band cracked and the diamonds fell out so they did a bunch of repair work to fix it. None of which had been told to me at any point until now....I told her my ring is more damaged now than when I brought it in and she nodded and agreed. she then proceeds to blame me because I didn't just take the ring to wherever I bought it,for which I pointed out that they offer repairs, they looked at my rings when I brought them in, I showed them what I needed fixed and they agreed and took the rings. My ring is now gonna cost me double if not more to fix as the other person quoted saying it depends on if she finds more problems.
