On July 10th I called and scheduled a plumbing appointment for the following week. They would not make an appointment without me giving a charge card number and charged me $144.54. I was told I would be given a full refund if I cancelled the appointment at least 48 hours before. The woman I spoke to gave her name as ********* when I cancelled the appointment the next day and I was told I would be credited the full amount. I received my credit card statement yesterday and was only credited $139.77- not the full amount. I tried to resolve the problem by email and phone calls but they refuse to refund me the$4.77 they owe me. They are telling me this is a processing fee by the credit card company. I was Not told of a processing fee. I was told I would get a full refund. This is fraud. They should pay if the processing fee since I was never told this and I cancelled the appointment several days before. I never would have given my charge card number if I had been told this. I was laughed at when I spoke to *********************, the customer service representative, when I told her I would contact the Better Business Bureau. Please assist me in getting my full refund. I wonder how many other people are not getting their full refunds when told they would.

I personally spoke with **** and I was very professional. When I answered the phone **** started yelling so loud I had to move the phone away from my ear.  After three warnings for her to stop yelling at me, I did need to hang up on her.   She did call back and was a bit calmer but still a loud, unprofessional tone.  I explained that our refund policy is not 48 hours but 72 hours before scheduled appointment.  It does state on the invoice I sent her that a refund will not be issued if services cancelled within 72 hours of scheduled appointment.  The reason we take a credit card to secure appointment date and time, is to ensure someone will be at residence when our plumbers arrive.  We are charged a processing fee of 3.1% by our credit card company and if a customer cancels the appointment, we will refund them the service call minus the charge we are assessed.  I did not charge her the fee of 3.1% we are again charged when we process refunds.  We are a reputable company and our cancellation policy and refund policy is listed on the paid invoice that is emailed to the customer.  I am sorry she is not satisfied with the professional way I handled the 2 calls with her.  I was very professional and tried to explain our reasoning to her but she hung up on me before we could complete the conversation.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      # 1 I admit I did yell at her because she wouldnt listen to me. And she was far from being professional. If she would check her records she would see that I actually did cancel the appointment more than 72 hours before even though I was told I only needed 48 hours. I was also told when I made and cancelled the appointment that I would be refunded the FULL amount. It is against Wisconsin law to charge a processing fee if the consumer has not been told prior. I was not told. They owe me $4.77. I regret I did not check reviews of this company prior as since this occurrence I have seen this company is shady and has a history of billing customers credit cards without authorization. ********************* was not professional and didnt even try to negotiate a settlement. I have since also filed a complaint with the ************** This company known to me as Tall Pines Plumbing is breaking the law billing peoples credit cards without authorization.
      Regards,

I contacted Tall Pines Plumbing to replace my well Pump and run plumbing for a washer in our cabin. When they arrived I was informed that I needed a whole new well as well as a new drain pipe ***** the kitchen sink. The drain from the kitchen sink would be tied into the drain created for the washer. The total cost would be $******* and required a down payment of $4702 this was payed 5-30-23. They came and installed the well, and plumbed for the washer, but never tied in the kitchen sink. They are now asking for more money to finish the job, and will not do it until I pay the entire *******. I want the **** finished or $400 off the price.

An employee came to my mother's cottage to fix a frozen septic. He had major problems doing this. Got his ****** and *********************** the septic tank. He tracked black water through out the basement and splattered it everywhere. He finally gave up with the ****** and hose still in the tank. He never resealed the septic line so the black water was running into my basement. I had to have Serv Pro come in to professionally clean the basement. I feel Low Cost Plumbers should pay the cleaning bill which is over $2000. I have sent numerous emails with pictures of the mess and the cleaning bill. They refuse to answer my emails about reimbursing me.
