This company came out to my residential property to address a back draft issue from a water heater over the weekend. They stated they would need to adjust or replace some of the duct work from the chimney to the water heater. Theres approximately 5-8 ft of duct work there. The employee was there for approximately 6-8 hours total having a real hard time adjusting duct work. After completing the job, no bill or invoice was sent in the email describing any charges. I then receive a notice that my care was charged 3100.00$ from this company. Now I may have to go through the troubles of small claims court.

We needed our gas line to our garage heater bonded. They did not do what was told to be done. They changed a 2 section of pipe and put a new thermostat in. Thermostat was not needed. And charged $900 for little work done! Total joke of a company!

To Whom It May ********************* October 4th, 2022, a team of two Midwest Heating & Cooling technicians arrived at the ***** home for a scheduled appointment regarding tube pipe venting flagged as hazardous by Inspector ***** of the ************************. Per Inspector *****, the ***** homes current configuration failed local requirements.

Midwest Heating & Cooling Install Manager spoke with Inspector ***** and was told that the gas piping should either be bonded or shielded in order to be up to code and additionally required that a thermostat with the capability of locking at 50 degrees Fahrenheit be paired with the configuration to prevent overheating and fire hazard situations. The Install Manager inquired if the Inspector had a preference between bonding or shielding, to which the Inspector said bonding would be sufficient.
During the ***** appointment, Midwest technicians performed the necessary bonding and installed an updated thermostat that met the requirements set by the Inspector. Additionally, the Midwest technicians checked the clearance for exhaust venting of the home because the Inspector had not been able to while on site because he did not have a ladder to do so.

After the appointment, Inspector ***** assessed the ***** home again and failed the updated work claiming that the venting needed to be shielded instead of bonded. Upon learning of this miscommunication error, the Midwest Heating & Cooling team has since contacted the ***** and offered to return to the home to perform the redirected shielding requirements at no extra cost to the *****.

While the miscommunication and confusion is unfortunate, the offer still stands for the necessary shielding to be performed at no extra cost to the *****. All that is needed is for one of the homeowners to contact Midwest Heating & Cooling at ************ and the Midwest team will take care of this matter.
