Pattern of Complaints
On August 27th, 2014, the BBB sent a certified letter to SAS Group due to a pattern of consumer concerns received by BBB from consumers.
In the complaints, consumers advised that after getting their order, they received and were charged for additional products.
On September 8th, 2014, BBB sent a certified follow-up letter to the company after receiving no response to the initial letter.
On September 22nd, 2015, SAS Group, responded by advising that customers are not paying attention to the additional Shipping & Processing charges. According to the company, most offers are for the Bonus item with additional shipping and handling charges and that they do have recordings of each customer processing their order. The company also advised that before a customer places an order, they are given a complete description of the offer including the cost of the product, along with additional shipping and processing charges for each item.
According to the company, their commercial states both visually and verbally that additional shipping and processing applies. The customer is given the opportunity to accept or decline the offer. If the customer does not respond, it defaults to a declination.
As of September 22nd, 2015, the BBB is still receiving complaints from consumers advising they are unaware of the additional products/charges.
