5/26/2024 - tree removal initiated. (one large maple tree was removed from the premises)Invoice # **** Invoice amount: $29,990.40 Insurance amount to be paid to Tree sixty: $7845.79 (amount allocated from my insurance company for tree removal services rendered).***** ****** threatens to put a lien on my home if I do not pay. This was a contracted job that involved the insurance company not myself. He took this on as an insurance job. He has stepped over the line by posting on social media a video that he took while going by my home.I would not recommend Tree-60 if you are utilizing your insurance company. For starters, Tree-60 never gave me a quote, instead telling me they were "well versed" in dealing with insurance companies and I would not have to worry about a single thing. It took them 2 days to take down 1 large maple tree! Fast forward, I received an invoice from them for $29,990.40. My insurance company did not cover it all and now Tree-60 is trying to put a lien on my home. To make matters worse, the owner took a video (very strange how he just happened to be in my area which isn't a main road by any means) last week when I needed to have local police intervene with my adolescent son from harming himself and posted it on his public story on social media. The caption on the video read "One of my most difficult customers". I would not recommend this company as they are not quick and efficient as they left my backyard a complete disaster, took advantage of my predicament, and are attempting to scam my insurance company. Not to mention, poking fun at adolescents that require mental health assistance.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to address this complaint.   We appreciate the fact that you are here to protect our consumers and we strive to be compliant, as well as a good corporate citizen, to our state.
We have a very well defined contract that clearly exposes our rates, before services are rendered. We have used and continue to use this system,  which is common in the tree care industry. The vast majority of these claims are quickly satisfied by the carrier as they recognize it as standard.  Most service industries require minimums and charging a premium for immediate service is more common than not.
My experience with these situations has lead me to find, most often, the carrier is practicing unfair claims practices by siting policy limits that are not true.  They will then put pressure on their customer to file reports, in order to damage the contractor and protect theirself,  with little regards for the customers well being.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to our customer and would like to see them get their invoice satisfied through the carrier.  However, we can not force the carrier to pay the invoice for the contracted amount the customer signed.
If there is any way we can be of service further,  please reach out.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Tree sixty has failed to acknowledge the unprofessionalism and gross negligence that was exhibited by posting a video taken by the owner and posting it on social media of the incident with my son who was in the middle of receiving assistance from local law enforcement. Instead, he responded in a generalized fashion pertaining to insurance companies whom he reassured me that he was well versed in doing business with. Tree sixty has taken down multiple trees that were as large as my tree for less than $2000 cash, that is insurance fraud.
    Regards,
