    Our garbage was not picked up this past Friday on its normal scheduled day. As I look out my window, I still see the garbage bin full of garbage at the end of my driveway. All of my neighbors on my street also have their bins at the end of their driveways as well. Because my garbage was not collected for last week, I have no place to put my garbage for this current week. So, garbage is currently collecting inside of my garage by the back door. My garage smell of rotting fish. It's disgusting. We called Harter's Lakeside to request that they fulfill their contractual obligation to collect the trash from last week. They declined our request. So, we sit here in our own filth while they do nothing. This is unacceptable. ******** explanation was the weather. We received a little over an inch of snow on Thursday night. By Friday, the snow had ended and the roads were very clear, plowed and salted. There wasn't even enough snow to use a snow thrower. They are just making up excuses so they don't have to work.

    Harters Lakeside Disposal fulfilled their obligation on 12/30/2022 to service both trash and recycle. We placed specific work orders on her account for servicing. Please see the attached link as video evidence, that we did compete the service. We were notified via email December 28th 2022 by The Town of Grafton, and addressed right away. There was not a call made to our office. Due to the weather, a lot of residents kept their containers inside. We offered multiple villages/townships to pick up all residential extras free of charge the following service day.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    The response cites a pickup date of 12/30/22 and yes, they picked up garbage on 12/30/22. However, the original complaint was that they skipped service on 12/23/22, not 12/30/22. The service was never performed on 12/23/22. 

    I and all of my neighbors on Aspen Ct. and ************** kept our trash at the end of their driveways every day between 12/23/22 and 12/30/22 hoping that Harters would return. Harters could have picked up on Monday, they could have picked up on Tuesday, the trash was still out on Wednesday, same for Thursday. Really any day the following week would have been available for a makeup. Better late than never. But, they never came.

    My wife and I grew frustrated as garbage bags piled up in our garage. We called and spoke to Harters on 12/28/22. The proposed resolution was the skip service for 12/23/22. Well, that resolution might work out well for Harters because they wouldn't have to do anything. However, for the neighbors accumulating trash in our garages, the proposed resolution fell short.

    I would also like to point out that I and all of my neighbors paid for the service that we did not receive on 12/23/22. Ironically, I dropped off the check at ***************** on 12/30/22 before anything had been picked up. The timing of the payment and the missed service drove the point home to me that we were being taken advantage of.
