Wish I could give zero stars! Extremely unprofessional and shady front desk lady *****. Complete false advertising and horrible customer service. In February of this year I briefly rented one of the companys units while I waited to close on a home. After three months I got an accepted offer on a home and no longer needed my unit. About a week before my closing date of may 31st I called to cancel with the company. I was informed that I needed a thirty day cancellation-understandable, but then the front desk woman ***** said Id have to pay another thirty day payment-which I get since it was in the contract, but then she I formed me they would be keeping my security deposit(equivalent to a month rent)aswell-double charging me. Frustrated I just wanted to get my. Things and be done with the company. To my Suprise I go to their climate controlled facility-my unit and discover all my things are actually in standing water! Their unit had flooded and distroyed $100s of dollars of my belongings, including dressers, an acoustic guitar, all of the boxes of clothes and a tv. All to which I took pictures of. I called and left VM. *****-not even apologizing said that she could give me my deposit back of $85(which they had wrongfully taken from me to begin with). Still just wanting to be done with the place I agreed. She said it would be in the mail. Three weeks went by and nothing. So I called and also emailed to which I was told The check was cut 6/1/22. The check was not dropped in the mail until June 13th.We have not received the check back and that is what we need to wait for or 90 day before we can re issue. So I wait til September 18th and emailed that I never got anything-close to four months after waiting for the alleged check to which I was told that I was to get a $70 check that would be put in the mail. I emailed back that that wasnt the agreed on amount to which ***** processeded to argue with me and finally said I wouldnt be issued any check

I'm sorry this tenant was not satisfied with her rental experience at Barr Warehousing. As explained in our lease agreement, we require a minimum three month rental period with thirty day notice to vacate. The tenant did pay the three months required but failed to give her thirty day notice. She called on 5/23/22 to tell us the unit was empty, a little over a week's notice to vacate which would not require us to process security payment.Regardless, we sent her security deposit back on 6/13/2022 to tenants address on file.

The unit she rented was not in our climate controlled facility/building. Her unit was in our standard enclosed outdoor building that is subject to humidity and moisture. Condensation will occur between seasons, particularly from Spring to Summer months when cold concrete is met with warmer air. We explain this to all tenants at move-in and offer reasonably priced pallets to keep items off the cement floor which this tenant choose not to purchase. There was no mention of damaged property or photos offered at time of move-out until now (four months after move out).

We have offered to stop payment on check sent to tenants address on file and resend minus stop check fee or wait until check is returned via postal service. ****** has refused both options, will not give an updated address and has been verbally abusive towards our storage manager. We have exhausted all efforts in this matter and will not proceed any further.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear

they literally are saying they will do nothing now. They say that they were not given notice of damages or of problems. I can prove otherwise. The stop check is not my responsibility to pay for. This whole thing has been incredibly frustrating, and Ive gotten very little to no help from the company. I am now asking for a full refund of last months rent and of my deposit. I do not think that after lying about their part in this I am very disgusted. The water damage was a lot more than condensation. I have pictures and proof of everything. This includes how their company has repeatedly try to steal from me and manipulate the situation. There are other reviews of their facilities leaking. I am not the only one who has had problems, I am the only one who is willing to call them on their lies.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Originally after canceling my unit after three months I called and canceled. I was informed of the 30 day cancellation to which would result in me being charged for an additional month(which the companys employee told me Id have to pay but wouldnt be allowed in the unit if it was to be considered the extra month resulting in fulfilling the Thirty day notice).  Then however she said they were to keep my security deposit which equaled an additional months amount of rent-therefore double charging and penalizing me for the early cancellation that had been in reality filled from the extra month payment I had made.  At that point I Annoyed but done with the situation allowed. However after arriving to my unit to clear my belongings out on may 31st  which is which stamped in some of the attached photos learned that the unit had standing water which had destroyed $100,s of dollars of ny property. Immediately I called the companys direct front desk line to inform ****, to which without any request of reimbursement ***** said they would return my $85 security deposit.- which technically should never have been kept to begin with. Becoming further annoyed I agreed and picked my battles.  Attached are all the emails that followed the original phone call.  The emails show that the employee agreed to send me reimbursement, then that the employee changed the agreed on amount, then completely opted out of fulfilling the companys promise of make the situation somewhat better. The company has played a cane with me since the initiation of my complaint and can be blatantly seen lying in our email thread.  As a result Im looking to receive both $85 payments from the double charge, along with an additional $230 for the time this has taken from me, and stress ensued due to the companys unprofessionalism and games, equaling $400 total owed to me.

I had contacted the company via phone were I expressed the property damage due to standing water in my unit
In the attached photos of my email correspondence with the companys employee ***** she a
