    On June 23, 2022 ** Hoffman Tree Service knocked on our door with our neighbors, stating that they were quoting our neighbor to trim some of our trees that hung over their property. Hoffman said that trimming the trees on the neighboring property would not look very good, so wanted to see if we would consider having them take down the tree. They provided a quote/contract that night for removal of one tree and two limbs of another. The contract was signed 6/23/22 and they required a cash down payment of $700.00 nearly 30% of the final cost. They picked up the cash deposit on 6/25/23 and said they would be back to complete the project in 2 weeks. At the end of August, I made my first call to find out when they were coming, as two weeks had long passed. They said they had delays and would be there in about 2 more weeks. This went on for a couple more months. Each time I called, an excuse and they would be able to get to our job in 2 more weeks. Finally, I requested a refund. They said to give them until Christmas and if they could not complete the job, they would issue a refund. We agreed. Christmas came and went and nothing. I called and no return calls. January 10, I requested refund again. They provided more excuses as to why the job wasn't done, but they still were going to do it in about 2 weeks. I reached out twice more in January, no response. Contacted again in February, March no response. In April I did receive a response apologizing, said they didn't get my messages, but they would complete the job as soon as they could. I Figured I'd gave them up to 1-year to complete the job. In July I reached out again; more excuses but they were still going to do the job. Finally, August 15th, I gave them final notice; September 1st to complete the job or provide a cash refund. This time, they said they don't even have right equipment to do the job, nor do they want to do it, but would refund our deposit. I asked for a refund immediately. No response.

    Signed a proposal to have a pine tree and a med cedar **** removed from front yard, along with grinding the stumps and removal of the grindings, & bring in dirt to fill, along with removal of all ************** This was done on 4/15/22 and a $200.00 down payment was made. It took until end of May into June to get tree and **** removed. After several phone calls and an email to them end of June and no response, I went and got yard waste bags and over the 4th of July weekend we bagged 10 bags of pinecones, etc to put on teh burb for removal and the grindings that were left we used to fill in the holes left from the ***** grindings. My yard currently looks horrible and this company has never come back to finish the job. They had asked for the remaining $400.00 once the stumps were ground and they never came back to finish the job. The yard looks horrible and I don't have the means to make it look nice. My neighbors yard also is a mess and she is handicapped so she cannot do it. I have heard that they did several peoples yards in my area and they are not happy with the end results.

     I need to share with you that the tree service company stopped by my home on 9/18/22 and spoke to my fiance regarding my complaint.  I guess the one brother is so angry that I filed a complaint he did not get out of his vehicle his brother came to our door.  I want to let you know that my fiance was told a bunch of lies and i want them added to the complaint.  They are claiming that they gave us a good deal because we said we did not have the money and that was never ever discussed with them, we had the money and the price was so good we agreed to the removal of the tree.  They gave us a price and they ask if they could write it up and my fiance and I discussed it and said yes lets get it done.  Our neighbor lady told them that their price was too high and they cut her a deal. If you need her contact information to verify information let me know as they told her the same stuff they told us which was lies.  

    They also stated our yard was not the best under the tree.  Well if you have a pine tree that goes to the ground it is not going to be well trimmed grass.  They wanted to know what could be done to make things right and my fiance told them they never finished the job and what we all had to do and now we are dealing with weeds.  The tree company is claiming they will be back on Oct 10 to fix the mess they left.  I really don't believe them at this point after all the lies they made up in talking with my fiance.  

    They are also claiming that they cannot just purchase half a load of dirt they need a full load.  I guess they have left several of their customers with messes.  They claim they have spent the last month at another customers property do work.  

    Maybe they should not contract more work than they can handle and start and finish one job before starting another job.  

    My neighbor lady was told that ****** does not answer his phone and she commented that maybe having a business you should answer calls.  *** advised that we should call him and he will answer the calls.  We I do know that I called them several times at the end of June and never heard from them.

    In my original complaint I stated I wanted the tree service to get a professional landscaper in to correct the mess the tree service left.  I am still wanting that because after the contact on Sunday 09/18/22 I feel that they will come in and do a very bad job.  I want to see a professional landscaping company come to my home and fix what the tree service left and I want the tree service to pay the landscaping company.

    I felt like we got harassment from the tree service company coming to our home and the one brother telling us all kinds of lies and going to my neighbor and telling her the same lies.  

    Please tell this company DO NOT come back.  I will send one of them a text or email also advising not to come back and I will include a copy of an estimate I got from a landscaping company.  The landscaping company is going to call today 09/23/22 and set up a time to get this work done.  I am including a copy of the estimate so you can see what is going to cost to fix the yard properly, not just putting in dirt.  ************ will also see the area and clean up all the mess that the tree company left.  In my complaint I ask that they hire a landscape company and pay for it but it is obvious after their visit they are not going to do that and I just feel that they will do a terrible job because they are upset with a bbb complaint against them and not do things right.
