  In 2023, my wife and I decided it was time to renovate our cottage in ***** ****** **. The cottage is over 115 years old. The property began as a two-story fisherman’s cabin with four bedrooms and one bathroom. Over the years, it had seen its fair share of wear and tear, and it was time to update it for the next generation of our family. Our goal was simple: we wanted to create a space where our entire family could all gather and enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods. We aimed to keep the rustic charm of the cabin intact but also add much-needed space and functionality. Of course, we also knew we’d have to address some significant structural issues. We didn’t want any surprises - we wanted a “no regrets” experience. That’s when we found North Twin Builders (NTB). John ******** and his team took the time to understand our vision and provide us with valuable options and recommendations. They provided thoughtful suggestions on everything from heating and cooling systems to insulation and window efficiency. What stood out to us most was how well-organized and transparent NTB was throughout the entire process. They maintained clear communication with regular updates on our project schedule and budget, and the dedicated foreman and team of skilled carpenters did amazing work. The coordination with subcontractors was seamless, which kept the project running smoothly from start to finish. John himself was involved at every stage. Whether it was offering design alternatives or providing insights into technical aspects of the build, John’s hands-on approach made all the difference. The result was our remodeled cottage turned out even better than we had hoped. It’s exactly what we envisioned—rustic, warm, and full of charm, with all the modern amenities we needed to make it a functional, year-round getaway for our growing family.   We had our home built by NTB through fall and winter of 2022-23. John was extremely helpful throughout the process, suggesting great ways to not only improve our original design, but to help us save money along the way. It’s very obvious that he takes great pride in the work done by his crew. He met with us several times throughout the build to show us what had been done and why, as well as keeping us very much in the loop with the progress and what to expect. This was extremely important to us since we lived eleven hours away during the build. Rae Ann did a remarkable job handling the financial aspects with our construction loan and communicated well with us through the process. We couldn’t be happier with the end result!

  I highly recommend North Twin Builders. John and his staff were able to rebuild our home and then some after it was 90% totaled due to a freak flood event. They helped us from A -Z on everything from planning the rebuild, to remodeling and adding on. They held our hand when we needed help making our remodel decisions, choosing materials, all the way down to figuring out fixtures, faucets and even drawer knobs. They got us in touch with experts who designed and installed our custom kitchen cabinetry. John and his staff coordinated reliable subcontractors and held them accountable to the expected timelines. When there was insurance company feedback that didn't sound right, John himself got involved to support us and help substantiate our claims that resulted in the rightful Insurance payment. I was highly impressed as to how we were kept informed all along the way. They let us know what was happening and when, as well as what to expect next and when. There were no surprises before, during or after. Other than the beautiful home they created, everything else was cleaned up from the jobsite. John and North Twin Builders were very detailed with pretty much everything. They will make the time to help you with what you want and need. John & North Twin builders provided top notch workmanship and can be trusted to provide you with a beautiful home or any unique extensive remodel needs. Great people doing Great Work!

  North Twin Builders recently added a 4 season sunroom and new deck to my log home on the ***** *****. The entire project went smoothly, great craftsmanship and customer service. Pricy yes, but you get what you pay for. The addition not only looks like it belongs from the outside, but inside, it greatly increases my living space.

  We contracted North Twin Builders to remodel our 1950’s era Cy Williams log house. The work included a new kitchen and dining area, en-suite bathroom, structural changes to accommodate enlargement of these areas, and updates to associated utilities. The oversight of subcontractors from design to installation was excellent, and due to long standing relationships between John and these local companies. North Twin employees were top notch craftsmen and the office staff was well organized and kept us updated on orders and billing. John and his staff made routine site visits and any issues were rectified. We are very happy with the work - the new additions have given our home the latest amenities and improved the integrity of the historic structure. **** ****** *** ****** ******
