We ordered 24 sweet potato plants (order #sh180818) , item #***** in the amount of ***** and some other items. These plants arrived in our mailbox in a cardboard box quite dead on 5/13/24. I sent an email on 5/14/24 and advised the company. Their reply was to try and plant them. The garbage pickup was on a Tuesday and the plants were thrown away, which we told them so. I have been a farmer, second generation, and know when a plant is dead! *****************************, a **************** Specialist with **************************** me back that he checked with his supervisor and felt the decision to throw the plants away and not attempt to plant them was irresponsible therefore nothing would be done per our complaint. My final email of May 17 remains unanswered in which I stated that they were dead, why would I plant them?! I have planted potatoes for forty years! I know what Im doing here!!! I just want my money back for these items.

Customer placed order for a Sweet Potato Bargain **** Collection which was for
    12 plants -04732a ********** and 12 plants *****a Vardaman Sweet Potatoes.
Pirce of collection was $34.95 plus tax.
Sweet Potatoes are shipped direct from our vendor to our customers.
Ship Date was Wednesday, May 8, 2024:
USPS Tracking shows delivered: Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 2:40 pm on May 13,2024 in *******, ** 61319.

Our Sweet Potato Vendor includes instructions with every order.
Expect your plants to appear wilted or possibly bleached to a higher color due to their enclosure during shipment, but do not be alarmed if either condition exists.  Sweet Potato Plants are tough and if planted properly and favorable weather exists, your plants will grow off good and yield an abundant supply of delicious potatoes.  Heavy plant foliage is sometimes trimmed to prevent over-heating during shipment. Many large Sweet Potato Farmers cut off all the leaves and a part of the roots.
If there is to be a delay in planting, just remove the plants from the carton and take the rubber band, waxed paper and **** away from the plant roots.  The **** may be quite dry as the moisture had been removed from the **** while traveling. Then place the roots in a position where they can receive moisture, being careful to keep the plants away from the sun and wind. Do not wet the stems or leaves. Roots placed on wet sawdust or **** or on a wet burlap bag will keep the plants strong and healthy for several days. Plants will succeed even if they are yellow, slimy and have an odor that is almost unbearable.  Potato plants are tough and strong and most of them will survive if they are set properly and have good growing climate.
Growing regular potatoes is quite different from planting Sweet Potatoes plants.
Customer opened box and did not give the plants a chance!
    No refund is due!

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I know how to plant and water sweet potatoes. I resent any insinuation that I am not treated these plants properly. Please! They were DEAD. There was no thing that I could have sdone! They were not wrapped properly and arrived to me as dead plants. You continue to blame me for something that was clearly out of my control! I am not satisfied. No!!! You have to make this good!!![PleaseI  type your response here.]

    Regards,
