I just received the delivery of an LSF-16 unit from ***** Automatic Cattle Feeder. Per their description on the website and my discussions with the sale representative, this unit is supposed to feed 16 heads of cattle at a time. I paid 9735 (8300 unit price+1435 shipping). However, the unit I received is barely adequate for 8 heads of cattle, and if they are smaller ones, you may use for 10 heads. Upon contacting the company, now they are trying to make me buy an extra ****** for additional 5000$ plus shipping about 800$.

Unfortunatly the customer did not understand that the sales sheet clearly states the feeder can handle "up to" ************************ his discussions with our sales **** it was unclear exactly what livestock he was wanting to feed (his sheep or cattle) more often than not our customers want to try out the consept of automatic feeding before adding the feeder expanssion unit refered to as additional hoppers. The discussions between our *** and this customer led our *** to believe this customer had, and still has the full intentions of added additional feeding capabilities to his farm. Through the conversations, our *** was informed that this farmer has over 20 head of cattle and between 20 and 30 head of sheep.

We deeply regret this miscomunication has happened and by all means we will work with this customer to satisfy his automatic feeding needs. The overall dimenssions are clearly listed in the specifications on the sales sheet as well, and this customer had plans to pick up the feeder with a trailer that was well undersize and was told by our *** the feeder would not fit into a trailer with the proposed dimensions.

      Customer Answer

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The business is selling cattle feeders, as their name says: Automatic Cattle Feeders. In my pre-purchase communications, they never clearly stated that this feeder can only adequately feed 8-10 cattle. Nor is it mentioned anywhere on their website or descriptions. They are taking advantage of people and misrepresenting what they are selling by using ambiguity of terminology. When a company termed automatic cattle feeder says their LSF16 feeds upto 16 heads of livestock, am I supposed to think it is 16 heads of sheep and not cattle? Is this not complete deception?

I am not sure what they are trying to say by raising the pickup discussions?

If the company cannot stand behind their claim this feeder can feed ************************************************************************************* the full purchase price, shipping costs and my cost of buying extra parts (battery and forks) and employing labor to unload and install this.

Moreover, I do request BBB to kindly make sure they at least change their descriptions on their website and nomenclature of the product, so people do not get further deceived as I was.

      Regards,

      Md. *****************
