      On September 23, 2024 I drove my car to Salem auto. I told the owner I wanted a new Thermostat put in & to check for a possible radiator leak. The mechanic called me & said the radiator did leak & that he could fix it. Would have to take apart top part of the engine & would cost me $550. I told him to go ahead & fix it. Another day later he calls back & says it would cost a lot more. So, he was told to forget fixing the leak & just put in the thermostat. When I went to pick up my car, I was told by the owner it over-heats right away so it wasnt driveable for me to drive home. I then told him how I had been driving the car around days before plus the fact that I drove it in to them & NEVER had it over-heated. It ran fine. From then on for over a month I had to call every other day to find out what was going on with my car. It seemed my calls were being avoided. When I did finally get to talk to the owner, I was always told they hadnt gotten to my car yet. They always put it off to the end of the week before they would touch it. It was about Oct 17th I finally asked them for a loaner or rental. I was assured they would make arrangements for a rental. Another week went by with the owner avoiding getting me a rental every day. Finally, I insisted that I was provided a rental as it was ridiculous & unacceptable that they had not yet fixed my car. Instead of them providing me with a rental, the owner suddenly decided that his mechanic did not cause the new current problem(s) with my car & said he would tow it back for me though. How nice a wrecked car & a free tow. When I had them bring the car back on Nov 1, 2024, not only would the car now not start at all, part of the hood of the car is smashed in the front. This also was not like this when I drove it in. Who knows what else they messed up in the engine.
